La Antioquena Bakery — Restaurant in New York

Extremely disappointed with this place! Never going back here again. First of all, I asked if they made mini empanadas? they said yes. Second, I placed an order with anticipation of mini empanadas. I paid for them upfront so the next day I can just walk in and pick them up. Pick up was scheduled for Friday at 7:00 am and the lady reassured me that they will be ready at the above time. The day of pick up i get a call at 6:45 am that they were unable to prepare them because they didn't have any more flour left.... I thought it was a joke. Unfortunately, it was not. This was so irresponsible from their behalf because they could have called me in advance and not wait until last minute. Not only were they irresponsible but rude. After i questioned the lady who called me about the order, she tells me "ah pues que quiere que haga, al menos la estoy llamando" really??? So unprofessional! Calling me 15 mins right before the order is due... To be honest at this point I am speechless. All i know is that I refuse to go back to this place again!

BTW, that was an order for a meeting at my work place. Thankfully, someone recommended me La Colombianita Bakery, I called them asked for the mini empanadas and they had them ready in 15mins. I have to say they were...

La comida es muy deliciosa pero sus precios son un poco elevados a comparación de otras panaderías colombianas o latinas, además el salpicón es más jugo que fruta pica y a veces sabe a cebolla (señal de que usan sus utensilios de cocina para preparar todo mezcla o en vez de tener uno para fruta, otro para verdura y otros para carnes para evitar eso) . Me da mal genio que siempre que voy las empleadas o me ignoran o me hacen esperar hasta que se les dé la gana de terminar sus conversaciones con otros clientes y te atienden de mala gana como si estorbaras aunque seas amable y respetuoso. A parte tienen el descaro de darte un montón de cambio para que les des propinas y si no les das te hacen mala cara o sea yo soy una persona que da propinas pero únicamente si se lo merecen, ellas no deberían esperar la propina como una obligación, las...

Friendly service and good pastries. Tried the pastel de guayaba con queso, which was just what I expected, a buñuelo, and a pandebono. The buñuelo tasted okay but suffered the fate of most buñuelos that aren't eaten within 5 minutes of being made---it lacked the crunchiness of the outer crust and the moist, tenderness of the dough inside. Eaten cold, the dough was quite dry, but wasn't excessively oily which was good. The pandebono, which was the reason I stopped in, was also too dry for my liking.
