Tropicpollo — Restaurant in New York

Tropic Pollo is one of the few restaurants in the area that specializes in "Spanish food" that I've ventured to try. They just seem more inviting with their bright lighting and large windows and were friendly enough for me to order from, not being a Spanish speaker.

My efforts have been rewarded with delicious arroz con pollo (chicken and rice) and fried chicken cutlet with rice, beans, and fried plantain.

The servings are large, the food tasty, and service fairly quick. The prices seem average. I've also had the tres leches cake which heads up, is not served in a leak proof takeout container. My poor milks were all over the bottom of plastic bag by the time...

I wasn't going to write an experience. However, upon reading reviews, I must say that although they have good food, I've had better. They refuse to accommodate swaps. I don't like sweet plantains or their cheap arepas. We asked for beans to swap out the aforementioned and it couldn't be done. Every other place I've been to could swap a plate of plantains for beans.. just common courtesy lacks here. Waitress seemed nice, but whoever runs this joint needs to accommodate everyone. I had a Extremely bad experiences, have been there three times & all the time was worst. Last time around 8pm was showering and dark outside of my home & felt to have some nice Columbian food. They over charged me of saying that the bill is $26.50 but in receipt was $22 & I had to pay $30 with tips. Delivery man was so rude and Showed me his angry and told me the bill is $26.50 like the server told me on phone, I believe They are scamming customer and losing trust for this columbian restaurant.
