LENWICH — Restaurant in New York

Disappointing and not worth the money. Ten dollars for a sandwich. Would have been worth it if there was any flavor whatsoever. But sadly, there wasn't. I ordered rye but have no idea what I got. This is not rye at all. It tastes like a country style white. The sandwich, the "Joe", was supposed to have horseradish in it, but didn't. I don't know if they forgot, ran out, or just couldn't be bothered. Granted they were closing soon, but not for 45 minutes. It's not like I came in 5 minutes before they locked the door.

The service was poor also. I was ignored for quite some time before I was finally acknowledged with, "What can I get ya?" Keeping in mind that I was one of 2 customers in the store, I thought I would at least get my order quickly. Nope. Wrong again. Took long enough that I had to ask if it was coming.

There are many Lenwich joints in NYC BUT LET US TALK OF THIS ONE FOR A MINUTE. On the list of bits to consider we have the question of my opinion. In my book this is a top notch joint. At least regarding breakfast. Yep, a pretty good article that. Squeaky clean on all counts with food handled properly. These folks really know their stuff. Prices are a tad upscale but in line with competitoors. Lots of good things to say about just how they approach service. Their welcome is friendly, their attention to detail is refreshing and precise. You do not want to spend for a cup of coffee, so they offer you a free cup of water! Wow! Try that someplace else. A nice looking place with a surprisingly large menue. They even say thank you and ask if there is anything they can do to make your stay more pleasant. I walked in feeling rather grumpy. But left with a smile. Next time I feel hungry or grumpy, you will know where to find...

My recent encounter with customer service has completely changed my mind about this establishment. I ordered a build my salad on Grubhub. I built my salad the way I NEEDED my salad to be due to food allergies. I have a tomato allergy and there were tomatoes put into the salad. When I called the restaurant they told me I needed to contact Grubhub for credit. When I contacted Grubhub they told me I needed to let the restaurant know. I am not about the run around. Just be careful when ordering food from here because they clearly do not care about food allergies or something that can be a life or...
