Tri Dim Shanghai West [UWS] Restaurant and Bar 鼎豐 — Restaurant in New York

I was still hungry after the order. I did not feel it was worth the money I spent. The food was meh. DoorDash delivery made it easy and based on the reviews we thought it was a good place. But I ordered steam shrimp translucent dumplings (there were 4 small ones for $9) and Sautéed Vegetable delight for $15. Total with tax and delivery was $26.13. The vege w rice dish was in a white sauce and there was a decent variety of veges (carrot, broccoli, thin mushrooms, bamboo shoot, and watercress) but definitely not enough. The container was the shallow one and it was only half filled. This was not a lunch special portion but there was really hardly any food. I was hungry and ate it in record speed bc there was so little food I forgot to take a pic but I took a pic of the containers washed to be recycled. The dumplings were good but they were about 1.25” wide and just 4 for $9. We were so hungry after this meal. Veges don’t cost anything to fill up the shallow container more than half the container. I hope they give more food for the next customer. But I won’t be coming back sorry. The rice was good and not gooey…it was fresh...

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this restaurant. The owner’s behavior towards my children and me was shockingly rude. When my three-year-old accidentally knocked the table with a fork, the owner immediately grabbed his arm, showing no regard for his age or my ability to handle the situation. When I calmly suggested a more respectful approach, the owner overreacted and rudely asked us to leave. As a parent, I expect basic decency and understanding, neither of which were demonstrated here. I will not be returning and would caution other families to avoid this establishment.

I was also with my one-year-old daughter and my mother during this incident. We were all hungry and eager to enjoy a meal together, but the owner’s unacceptable behavior forced us to leave. It was a disappointing and upsetting experience, especially considering the hunger of my young children and the inconvenience caused to my family. This place is delicious (!!!!!), sophisticated with an upscale feel, & the service is immaculate. ■ FOOD The fried shrimp balls were the best I've ever had. They were dense & juicy, flavorful, & so perfectly balanced. I ate most of them without the accompanying duck & mustard sauces because they were perfect just the way they were. The wonton soup was S.A.V.O.R.Y. 😍 Each wonton was a masterpiece. My beef was SOOOOO juicy & tender. The only thing I didn't love beyond measure was the broccoli, as it was a little chewy. They also served a dish of tasty surprise radishes as a palate cleanser & that was a multidimensional experience of flavors in & of itself.

■ SERVICE The server & host took excellent care of me, very attentive, friendly, & they seemed to care genuinely about the quality of my experience.
