Today was the last day that I put up with the ugly, belligerent, disrespectful, and confrontational attitudes of the staff here after years of unprovoked disrespect, and abuse during the holiday seasons when I come here twice a year. As usual, the belligerent, miserable cashiers here angrily demanded that I use my own knapsack to carry my 4 large, holiday bottles of liquor which I was purchasing. I informed them calmly, respectfully, with no aggression, attitude, or malice in a polite way that basically my bag was mine, and my personal property, and to please not make demands in regards about forcing me to use my bag because it was already full from grocery shopping with no room inside, and that I needed a bag. I was immediately verbally attacked, insulted, and threatened by 4 angry people which consisted of a belligerent female cashier, a confrontational, seated, insulting, female supervisor, an aggressive LGBT cashier, and also included a manipulative, female customer who saw an opportunity to take advantage, yell, and take out her frustrations on me when I had no conversation or business with her whatsoever. I left the store denied a bag or box by the staff deliberately, and the staff continuing to berate, mock, and insult me as I left the store. One star for the poor hard, working gentleman who thanked me for moving out of his way as he was transporting merchandise. Avoid this store like the plague at all costs otherwise you risk becoming a victim of violence assaulted at the hands of the abusive staff, and higher ups here who try to operate like a street gang, or getting falsely arrested possibly. This review is being edited now in response to the owner's shameless, false response to my review that the cashier asked me if I wanted a bag, or did I want to put it in my knapsack. The cashier was rude to me right away in the beginning by yelling 'over here' at me angrily when I didn't notice quickly enough for her that she was available in the beginning of the transaction. Cashiers here ALWAYS attempt to order you around. All of the sinister-smiling, abusive employees gleefully delighted in seeing me struggle to carry out 4 heavy, large bottles of liquors, and were hoping that I would drop them on my way out, and deliberately refused any type of bag, box or aid. I backed out of the store using my back to open the door to make sure I was not sucker-punched from behind, and because I had no hands free to push the door open due to not having any bags or box to carry my purchases. I no longer have to worry about disease, and wiping holiday gift bottles down with Chlorox wipes as a precautionary measure as rodent droppings, and roach excrement abound...
Read moreThis was my go to store. My family and I would frequent this store quite often and my Dad still shops there. It's unfortunate the treatment I had recently with the girl's behind the front desk. The trans woman who works there couldn't be ruder. I walked in the store with my boyfriend. I saw the trans woman whisper something to her coworker so already it seems she was on defense about something. I asked a simple easy question "Which one of the mini wine bottles are non American?" The response I got from the Latino girl was "you gotta read what it says!" Now I've been shopping there at that store for year's and never had a problem with getting help. Those were the rudest people I've ever encountered at that store. I know all about customer service but never in my life if I asked about a product and I was told to basically figure it out on my own. That's no way to help a customer that's spending money at your place of business. I was not only disgusted how I was treated but disappointed that people like that work there who aren't willing to help customers, especially because before that with those women working there it was always a pleasant experience for me.
I will make sure to tell anyone I know not to shop at this store because of the disgraceful associates that work behind the cashier. A simple question I asked was responded with a nasty response, that is why thing's escalated. Did they need to leave the cashier to answer my question of course not but it was very clear that they didn't want to help me. Again in the past I never had an issue while shopping there. I've been shopping there many year's way before those rude employees were working there. Teach your employees to respect customers and to help customers!! I will spread the word of the lack of product knowledge of the employees at this store and I will make sure to write a review on every platform. Never in the past did I ever have an issue while shopping at that location until that day. Next time hire people that are actually willing to help like that very helpful Latino young man! This store...
Read moreVery happy to have bumped into this place. I never noticed it until today when I crossed the highway nearby. The staff was very friendly and polite. Two staff members doing a wine tasting at the door greeted me when I came in and asked if I'd like to sample the wine. Another staff member apologized as she came up next to me to put wine back on the shelf.
The prices range from reasonable to cheap. There's a decent variety of both wine and liquors here. They even carry my favorite whiskey: Angel's Envy, both the bourbon and rye.
My cashier was a lady with a deep voice, as polite as the rest of the staff when she rang my order of a $12 bottle of riesling. The black gentleman who mostly stayed near the doors and occasionally walked the aisles near it thanked me as I made my way out, and I stopped by the entrance for another wine tasting before I left.
The amount I've talked up the staff working here probably sounds exaggerated, but it truly was a pleasant experience. I am so glad I tripped over this place because the other wine stores nearby don't have much variety and charge more. I look forward to coming back to try something a bit different...
