To celebrate the day after my 67th birthday, we took our son and gf out to a 2pm brunch at Lulla. Italian classified with separate brunch and full menu choices. Nice atmosphere with lots of large black and gold shiny bedecking and other eclectic period decor within a theme. The place is wide open with high wood-slatted ceilings. Our server was a lovely newbie who quite properly did all she could to enhance our dining experience successfully. I especially enjoyed when nearly all the meals came as an entourage and set simultaneously before us. I shared the arugula salad with my wife which isn’t anything to write home about but tried well with halved cherry toms and thin sliced sun-dried as well. Dressing was amply acid as a citrus vinaigrette and fine grated grana padano. Wife had the muscles which as we know is best served by the sauce. This sauce, tom based was rich and complex and wonderful especially when sopping it up with the crusty chard bread. We asked for more and was delivered warm on a lovely plate with an arabesque motif. My son had the extravagant avocado toast and judging by how fast he engulfed and devoured it, was likely delicious. His gf had the pancakes which were IMO, the fluffiest and tastiest I’ve ever had. Yes, I sampled them as did the rest of the table. Mine was the skirt steak and eggs. Cooked med-rare to perfection with a pair of over-easies that ran just warm all over. They were cooked hot and fast.

No desert. Worth a return. There were three $20.00 drinks-too expensive considering the 2 Bellini’s had no caramel-they ran out. We sub’d simple syrup or agave. Should have been comped 1 or priced down by 1/2. My son bought me a 12 yr Macallan double with a dash of water. It was a lovely experience and the food was...

This place is great for a lot of reasons, but also struggles in some areas.

Upon arrival, they make it a bit difficult to navigate where to check in since it is attached to a hotel. But, once we checked in with the hostess, it was smooth sailing. We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water, but were not communicated to that sparkling was $9 a bottle. I wish that the wait staff had communicated that, as it was a bit of a surprise to be charged for sparkling water when it had been offered as if it were complimentary.

The happy hour here is WORTH IT. The aperitivo tray + happy hour wine price is great for 2-3 people. The tray was phenomenal and was filling. The service was lovely and quick. I believe our waitress was named Raya and I’d love to highlight her, as she was attentive and communicative. Thank you Raya!

The pizza flavors were good, but for the price I wish the crust had been firmer and thinner for an authentic Italian style pizza. The broccoli rabe was phenomenal and you get a great portion for $12.

My only complaint for the ambiance is that while we were seated someone was vacuuming the carpets next and beside us even though the dining area was filling with people. It was distracting and took away from the experience.

Overall, do I think this place is worth a stop for a good happy hour wine and bites? Yes! I’d love to see refinement on some higher priced items, but also come with understanding this is a smaller space attached to a hotel in Nolita and it...

The 8 of us were just here (12/27/2024). Our daughter, who's in the restaurant business, made the reservation, but the manager said they don't have it. Then we said could we do 2 tables of 4 separately. They said no & didn't offer any options. So, we huddled together to decide what is best for us. Then they offered to sit us by the lounge bar upstairs. The manager said we could get a drink each whilst we waited for our table. So, we got our table in 10 minutes or so. We ordered 9 or so dishes. 3 different desserts & 2 cappuccinos & an espresso. The branzino was a bit salty, as was the salad. Two of the pasta was salty enough. However, my lamb ragu was fine. The rest of the other dishes were ok sans complaints. I only had the Panna cotta, which is quite decent. The tiramisu was good, too. But I didn't see what's the big deal with the cookies & ice cream.

When we got the bill, the complementary drinks were tallied up. However, when we asked the manager, he sorted the matter out. This he acted appropriately. However, he came to our table twice trying to influence my other daughter to change her review on Yelp, which she adamantly said she stood firmly by what she wrote.

I'll like you to be the judge of this place if it warrants further business from the...
