Enterprise Rent-A-Car — Local services in New York

Here is the detailed record of my unbelievably bad rental car experience in this place.

I went to this rental car location on 12:35 on May 24, which is 35 min late, the employee told me they only have minivan, we have two people so we want to wait for the mid-size car we booked, the employee told us to wait for 1 hour, so we wait for 1 hour and then come back.

After we come back, the employee show me the car, which is a Mitsubishi mirage. I remember it very clearly it is an economy car not a mid size car(the price for economy car and mid size car is different) and i told her. But the employee insist this is the "similar" mid-size car. I argued, and the employee just ignore me and ask me if i want the car or not. If not she'll just cancel it from her side. I keep arguing, and then she just cancel it without my permission!!!!!!! She said since my attitude is not ok, they won't do business with me today.

I have a lot of plans afterwards, and i really need that car, so i apologies even if not my fault. But they said my chance is over, today they'll cancel it from their side and won't do business with me. I keep arguing and she called the police.

I don't have time to spend with her so i have to leave and rent it with hertz. Before i left i confirm with them about my refund, they told me i will receive the refund on the same day but i still haven't see my refund today. I just asked the customer service they said my reservation is not cancelled!!!!!!! I just filled the claim to enterprise. This is the worst rental car experience...

August 2025 Review:

I highly recommend this place! There is a reason I keep renting from them while the location and hours of operations are not convenient for me. I keep coming back because the customer service is great. This time the manager Catherine helped me and she was awesome - spend a lot of time with me showing me how the car works (and I got the brand I asked for!) and even helped me install the phone holder - well, basically she installed it for me :) You will not find anywhere this level of customer service!

August 2024 Review I just rented again from this place and overall I had a wonderful experience. The car was good, clean. Hector and Edgar gave me a lot of support. I called a few times before and during my trip and they helped with anything I needed, such extending the car two times! The one thing that was not to their usual level of support was when I picked up the car, the women who helped me was impatient to show me how to use the car, but other helped me later.

I picked up today the car and as always, excellent customer service. Zack was absolutely amazing - I got the car in 3 min and then he spent 15 min explaining to me how the many buttons of the car work (I only drive a few times per year). Before and after I rented the car I called them a few times - they were so nice. I have other companies much closer to my house but I chose Enterprise just because they are so nice and make renting a car...

11/09/2023 -I reserved a compact car from Enterprise through Expedia for pick up at the Enterprise office at 106 West 24th Street, NYC. Because I had to change my pick up time, I called the location and spoke to Kobe Hamm, a Management Trainee. Kobe was professional, accommodating and friendly and made the change a breeze.

When it came time to pick up my Toyota Corolla, I met Hector Rodriguez, Sr. Customer Service Rep behind the counter. Just like Kobe, Hector was professional, efficient, accommodating and affable. Hector, apologetically, informed me that there were no Toyota Corollas available, but he had upgraded me to a Nissan Rogue. Well, I was as happy as a clam there were no more Corollas once I saw and drove the Rogue. Hector was kind enough to show this technology challenge individual, how to couple my phone to the car's blue-tooth system, the gear mechanisms and all of the Rogues technology. He was very patience and knowledgeable.

I've made dozens of car rentals in the past and most of those company's personnel treated me as if they were doing me a favor by using there service. This was NOT the attitude at Enterprise's 106 West 24th Street, NYC location. Kobe and Hector's demeanor was welcoming and jovial, making it a pleasure to do business with them.

I will continue to use this Enterprise location and staff for as long as I have car rental needs.
