I’ve been coming to Mole for at least the last 3 years pre pandemic. It was my go to spot when I lived across the street, and then when I moved up North 4th. I’ve always left completely satisfied even though the prices were incredibly high for Mexican food. It was always a treat to go there. After not having gone for a year , I was excited to bring a friend to try it. I should have known once we entered that it was time to go, the place was completely empty at 6pm on a Saturday night. We were the only people there plus a girl sitting at the bar alone. When I saw the menu I instantly realized that they had made it much smaller and were no longer offering dishes that are posted on their google page (which is how I convinced my friend to come and try it), when we got there they didn’t even have what he wanted. Anyways we tried to be understanding about the menu shrinking since after Covid. I ordered what I always do, the taco salad with chicken $16-$18?, and my friend ordered the $30 plate of Al pastor tacos, + the guacamole. The guacamole was decent. But the chicken in my salad had that rubbery texture when you bite into it and my friends tacos were just as sad and lacked a lot of flavor. We could tell the meat had been frozen for a while and lacked the freshness you expect when your going to drop $100 on something I could literally get down the street at the taco truck for $30 which would have been more satisfying. I’m just really disappointed , if you’re going to shrink your menu and not care about the freshness of the food then you should drop your prices. We left feeling completely ripped off. It’s not what it used to be. Wish I could ask for a refund because I left feeling really embarrassed suggesting a place that was so expensive for literally no reason. I literally never leave a review but this was just so...
Read moreMy personal experience dining outdoor at Móle on 9/20/20 @ 2:30PM: The restaurant is located near the water pier so if you are planning to go, I'd advise you to bring a sweater or jacket as it can get very cold and it did. There was no wait time for seating so they were able to seat 4 people on arrival. I ordered a steak fajita $26. Although the waiter brought out our food in a timely manner, he forgot to bring out a side dish of rice and beans that is included in all of our orders and had to be reminded. He delivered right away. The steak fajita was good, salty, and oily. The rice and beans side dish was bland. The waiter was not particularly friendly or unfriendly but rather seems like he is just there to do his job. We asked for our bill and noticed 20% gratuity was automatically added into the total amount. I didn't think that was fair considering the food and drinks are already high priced and the customer should decide how much they want to give. Nevertheless, the bill was paid. I went inside the restaurant to use the restroom and took off my mask. As I left, I forgot to put it back on and I hear a woman saying "miss, miss, MISS, MISS! When you come inside here, you have to put on a mask!" I apologized and simply said I forgot. I did not like her approach or attitude. She was standing behind a bar. I was about one more step out the restaurant and more than 6ft away from her. Thank you for reminding me to wear my mask. I will not go back. It was an "eh" experience...
Read moreI did not like the food. And the service was the same as the food, not good.
I Came with my fiance, after walking all over the neighborhood with a fruit juice from juice genration... before walking in the restaurant i asked the host if its fine i come in with my juice they said its ok. I Believe in treating everyone politely and equally so Then my waiter kept pestering to throw out my drink very rudely because I can't drink alcohol from outside in their restaurant. I told him i asked the host if this was fine and they said it was okay. Then the waiter kept telling me that no its not because it has alcohol and im like the cup literally says juice genaration on it, its fresh juice, if u like i will go somewhere else again politely! And he said no its fine then with a smirk... Then he took forever to take our order. Im hispanic by the way, i couldn't finish the food it was not appetizing and then the people next to us were service by the same waiter we got but his tone and attitude was way different with them than with us. The other customers were obviously drunk you could smell it and being loud and the waiter treated them so nice. my fiance and I were amazed at how "weird" that was... they were also white... i felt uncomfortable and discriminated against. I warn my friends about this place not worth money or time as the...
