I had such a great lunch at Maman the other day! A friend of mine had told me about it so we decided to go together with a few other friends. I found on their website a coupon for $25 off of $75 purchase if you get the inkind app. I figured why not if we were going as a large group we would definitely hit $75 especially because we wanted to try a few pastries. The inside is beautiful and the guy who took our order was SO friendly and patient while I tried to get the $25 discount to go through (it was a little complicated but worth it!). There was a large line stacking up behind us (sorry everyone) but he never rushed us. We ordered 2 ham and cheese croissants (really good although I hoped for more pickle than just one small one on top and maybe more mustard flavor, plus it was a little burnt), the chicken salad sandwich (my friend said it was great and it was huge!), the smashed avocado tartine with salmon added (also massive and my friend liked it). We also got pastries and just split them between us all including: banoffee cruffin (delicious), pina colada croissant cube (delicious and probably my favorite of what we tried), pistachio chocolate croissant (also delicious and probably my second favorite of what we tried), the Paris to new york croissant (this was a little hard on the outside so maybe not very fresh. The inside was good but just too much chocolate for me), and finally the sâmores cookie (this was just a basic cookie for me nothing special and I wouldnât get it again). Our food came out quick we had a great time and saved some money! Iâd definitely recommend it and...
Read moreThis is exactly what happens when a business becomes soo popular, opens up multiple locations throughout the city, and forgets where they came from. I loved their first ever location in SoHo and their Greenpoint location. Nice decor, delicious baked items, and nice classic vibe. However, today after visiting their 3rd Ave location on the Upper East Side, I feel like the owners no longer care. The place had so much flies in the store, around their pastries and cups. But the worst part is that the staff seem to be diversity hires who got the job based off their skin color or sexuality that CLEARLY DO NOT WANT TO BE THERE and have absolutely NO IDEA what they're doing. I don't care what you look like or what skin color you have but if you're not even going to make an effort to acknowledge staff at the counter in front of you while you're on your phone for a good 5 minutes, I don't know why you're even paid to do. Plus, it seems like the staff both at the counter and the kitchen do not wear gloves to prepare food items and will toss and handle and reheat pastries with their bare hands...one even wiped their sweat off and scratched their faces before preparing a sandwich...disgusting!! Also, do the owners even know that smartphones contain wayy more bacteria than a toilet seat and the employees are using them nonstop while touching food items?? They should receive more training or rehire staff that actually care because this is not...
Read moreI see this place all over my IG and was excited to finally get to try them. Went on a Friday afternoon around 3 and the experience was anything but zen.
There was a bunch of staff behind the bar talking to themselves as the ordering line kept growing. They straight up just talked and ignored us. Finally when the line was to the front door they started taking our orders.
The pricing was on par for the neighborhood and slightly less actually. All sweet treats, which looked amazing, were around $4 and their coffees and lattes around 5. Nothing shocking until their seasonal drinks. . . No pricing on seasonal drinks but there were coffee and non-coffee options. I choose the non-coffee option which was canned juice in a cup and it was $6.50!!!! This was 100 percent not worth it. The shocking pricing for seasonal drinks were not advertised and Iâve learned my lesson to always ask for pricing.
What I got: one chocolate chip cookie one small guava lemonade. It was basically poured from a store bought bottle. It was supposed to come with mint and there was no mint. With tip this was $12
Also since I went at an hour when the place was poorly run it was not as athletically pleasing as IG makes it out to be. Felt like I was walking into a coffee shop the morning after a party where you can tell it was a good time but everything looks worn out, sticky, and everyone is not...
