This wonderful establishment answered the call when we were on the hunt for dinner in South Slope. Welcoming cozy atmosphere with a nice bar. I immediately knew we were in the right place when all the patrons drinking at the bar were Mexican. They even started karaoke. They have two TVs which were playing music when we were dining. The service here was impeccable. Our waitress Karina was ultra attentive, coming in with great tips, changing our utensils after a course, making sure our table was clean.
It just so happened, that we were there for Taco Tuesday. They had a combo special for 3 tacos with a choice of tequila or mezcal margarita for $22. To our pleasant surprise, our margaritas were a double portion. We ordered the passion fruit and coconut mezcal, both pretty strong.
We started out with the nachos with chicken as an appetizer. Great size for two people, well made. You could tell they used real cheese to melt on the nachos. I went with the fish tacos on the advice of our waitress and it did not disappoint. The fish had a nice crisp but soft and flavorful inside. My husband also enjoyed his taco carnitas. A side of yellow rice and beans were a great addition to our meal. They were generous with their portions as we were only able to finish two tacos and took the rest home. We finished our meal by sharing a tasty slice of tres leches.
Overall, this place hits all the marks with tasty food, great service and atmosphere. I can't wait to return and try more items...
Read moreThis is a cute little place I was attracted because it looked clean. Their menu is very limited so I ordered the chicken nachos what I got was a couple of nachos with cheese and beans they threw a drop of quacamole to make it look good. Basically I paid 20 dollars for a couple of chips and cheese. I called to let them know my order had no chicken which clearly said chicken nachos on my receipt and the lady told me to go back and pick up another order which they would have ready when I go back. I did not go back because I live 10 blocks away and after working for 12 hours in Jersey all I wanted to do was rest. I ordered the shrimp ceviche for my husband that came with maybe 4 shrimps cut up into pieces. Highway robbery. The food itself is not bad but they are way overpriced for the tiny portions. I will not be going back to this place and next time I will cook like I was going to no matter...
Read moreI recently visited Mezquila Bar & Tapas, and I must say that the experience was truly delightful. The ambiance of the place is very welcoming and neighborly, with an inviting atmosphere that puts you at ease right away.
The tapas menu is an absolute delight, with a wide range of delectable dishes that will suit every taste bud. I was particularly impressed by the wings and tacos, which were seasoned well. The many different options of margaritas, which is a must-try, was a great complement to the flavorsome dishes.
What made the visit even more enjoyable was the exciting karaoke night that Mezquila Bar & Tapas hosts on weekends. The crowd was lively and convivial, with some great singers showing off their skills with classics from...
