My girlfriend and I recently visited UMI at their 145 19th Street location in Brooklyn and we can’t say enough good things about our experience with Chris Siebels and his team. After exploring multiple stone suppliers across the city we were blown away by the exceptional service here. Chris a friendly and knowledgeable young man stood out immediately with his clear communication and excellent command of English making the entire process seamless and stress-free.

What impressed us most was Chris’s honesty and genuine care for his customers. He took the time to understand our needs answer all our questions and guide us through their impressive selection of stones without any pressure. His team was equally professional showcasing their expertise and attention to detail. While UMI may not be the most budget friendly option we encountered the quality of their products and the outstanding customer service made it worth every penny.

We left feeling confident in our choice and truly valued as customers. There are some establishments where the shopping experience is so magnificent that 5 stars really just isn't good enough. If you're going to give Starbucks 5 stars just because they had your favorite syrup on hand that day, then the Brooklyn site of European Granite deserves more than that.

From moment one, we could tell that they were organized. The showroom was neat and the office was neat. Darek was available to speak at length about the complicated world of counter tops. We've heard a lot about the different options, both from self-guided online research to speaking with multiple friends who have chosen this or that and had things to say about their decisions (good and bad). But Darek walked us through it for about an hour. He showed us our options, discusses the benefits and disadvantages of each option and did it all with friendliness and a smile. He was patient and kind and went above and beyond. He ran to get a tape measure helps us figure out how much we'd need, putting things into perspective in terms of price and timing.

I just had the wonderful experience of shopping for natural stone for my mother's apartment (and also my own down the line) and was lucky enough to meet up with Chris. Chris was one of the best salespeople I have ever worked with, in any capacity for any purchase, and he cheerfully and honestly guided us through a variety of selections, always being sure to stay within our proposed budget. The warehouse itself is clean, well-lit and easy to navigate - and the selection is tremendous. I am glad that I got lackluster service at another spot in Brooklyn, because it inspired me to keep looking and that is how I found UMI.
