So excited for the opening of this bakery! My office ordered from Little Red Kitchen online before they had a storefront and my team loved the cookies so much. It was good for us because they also have gluten free options.
I learned that they opened a bakery in South Slope just off the Prospect Ave R train and was excited to stop in. I picked up some savory scones: the everything and jalapeño cheddar, both are so delicious and buttery and crumbly! As well as lots of cookies to try: the brookie, molasses, sprinkle, peppermint shortbread, chocolate babka bun. The molasses cookie is fantastic: crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle - absolutely perfect. It was really cold today and they even gave me a taste of their delicious hot chocolate to try!
I asked about holiday cookie sets and the owner, Susan, told me they could bake them and have them shipped to me the next day so I ordered and paid for the holiday sets in store. She made the process super easy for me and I’m really grateful to have them in time for Christmas.

Read moreHave really enjoyed the brookies and regular cookies we’ve had from here in the past, they are heavy duty, salty sweet, intensely satisfying. But I just bought some ice cream they made in house, took 3 pints home and ate it with wife and kids, and it was amazing. The dark chocolate and the stracciatella are both really perfect, very refined: great texture, not too sweet. Dark chocolate was too dark for the kids, it seemed. These were both among the best ice cream I have had in a long time. The bourbon with blondie chunks is also very good, but in a different way, like a heavy option from Ben and Jerry’s: bourbon flavor is well balanced, the blondies are really satisfying though i found them a bit overwhelming (too chewy/dense). Kids liked this one. We really enjoyed them all and will definitely purchase again in future. Also appreciate how the containers feel like a real full pint (more generous than store bought ones). There was one other flavor which we...
Read moreI saw several postings about this business through Facebook and Instagram, and I was pleased to see that they opened up a little storefront as I always like to show my support to small business owners.
I stopped in as soon as they opened to try out a couple of the baked goods they had available. The owner was so welcoming and helpful in my selections. I opted for some chocolate chip cookies and different babkas. Everything not only smelled amazing, but as soon as I tasted the first cookie, I knew this place was the real deal. The cookie you can tell was homemade, fresh, and made with love.
The prices are a bit high for the baked goods, but they are so worth it. Not only do they sell baked goods, but coffee and hot chocolate as well.
I definitely recommend checking them out, and I most certainly will stop in again the next time I am...
