I came here to preorder a birthday cake. After browsing the entire store. I decided to go with carrot cheese cake. It looked like a whole cheese cake put between 2 layers of carrot cakes. It looked delicious. They were also able to customize my order, because I didn’t want any walnuts and instead, I wanted extra resins. They were also able to write words on the cake. Upon leaving, I decided to take a piece of chocolate layers cake. It looked amazing in the fridge and I had to get it. It did not disappoint. The cake was so moist and flavorful. The ratio of the cake and the cream was just perfect. It was truly an amazing cake. I’m looking forward to how my carrot cheese cake turns out! I’ll update the photos when I get it! Highly recommend this bakery!!!! So happy to have you in my neighborhood!
Updates: the carrot cheese was very delicious! They were able to make it without the walnuts, but they made sure to called a day in advance to inform me. The cake turned out to be perfect! The cake was very dense, but not too sweet. Very satisfied with the product and their services.
Got a slice of Balckout today and it was delicious!!
I finally tried their pistachio lobster tail and it was so delicious and filling. First of all, it was huge. I didn’t expect it to be like a foot long. It was very flaky and crispy on the outside. The filling inside was very flavorful and creamy. It was simply delicious!!!!
Got a slice of chocolate cheesecake for today. It wasn’t pretty and didn’t travel well, but it was certainly delicious!
Strawberry short cake was alright.
Lemon blueberry cake...
Read moreThis is, by far, my favorite bakery. The service is as good as it gets, and while the quality of the actual baked goods is outclassed by places like Dominique Ansel, I’ve never been disappointed. And it’s pretty easy to be disappointed by bakeries— I get bitter when I make myself eat something that’s sweet but not delicious simply because I bought it.
Unlike a super-high-end bakery which tends to quickly sell out of the best items in its smaller selection, Mia’s has an abundance of every classic item you could want. The selection isn’t “creative” per-se, but it’s done well. I love their lemon tart. Another customer told me that their cheesecake is the best in the city.
The staff are extremely friendly and appear happy to work here. Which makes such a big difference in today’s age, where many employees in patron-facing roles lack enthusiasm. The past two times I’ve gone, the same member of the staff immediately stopped what they were doing to ask me how they could be helpful. And maybe it’s coincidence that the team is in a good mood whenever I’m here, but it’s also clear that the team here feels a shared responsibility for all aspects of the experience while you are here. In most multi-employee businesses with a display counter, cashier, and coffee/hot drinks, the staff stubbornly segment their responsibilities, taking every opportunity to relax when their station is given downtime. Not here! When one register is busy, someone in the back will emerge to man the free register so you don’t have to...
Read moreNovember 2, 2024. As a group of 3, we went here unplanned after another nearby restaurant that we actually wanted to go refused to admit us as we didn't have a reservation.
The shelf with so many pretty cakes instantly appeal. The cakes are sugary and fatty, clearly unhealthy, but okay for a once-in-a-few-months indulgence.
We ordered three cakes. Ranked from good to bad, they were Peach Rasberry - The cake was soft and sweet. Certain fruits such as these go very well in a cake. 2 . Fruit Napoleon - This felt like a best-seller---only two cakes were remaining, and this item couldn't be combined as a part of some other offers---and I wanted something fruity, so went for it. It was yummy. There's no cake in it, just thin puff-like layers, with lots of cream in-between, and with fruits---blackberry, blueberry, apple, raspberry---hidden like jewels inside. My friend pointed out that the cream is actually a cheesecake and noted that this Fruit Napoleon was placed along with other cheesecakes in the shelf. Chocolate cream pie. The cream was too sugary and not enough chocolatey. Moreover it was almost fully cream with the pie being a very thin layer at the bottom. We wondered what the name of dessert actually meant, 'Chocolate cream on top of a pie' or 'Pie made of chocolate cream'? I wish we tried the German Chocolate cake instead.
The two others with whom I came to this place drank some coffee or tea here, and they...
