Bad experiences ever. Don’t come to this restaurant. I went to this restaurant on Monday with my husband and a baby. They charged us 20% for tip on the bill. But the services were bad; we ordered sushi rolls, sashimi and soba soup. The soba came very late. It came after we finished all sushi rolls and sashimi set. My baby were waiting for her soba for so long. And the restaurant doesn’t have high chair for a baby. Before I go to the restaurant, I called for asking about high chair but the waitress picked up phone and she didn’t reply anything just hold the line and didn’t answer. It was so rude. The waitress was unfriendly at all. She look like doesn’t want to work. So how dare you charged 20% for tip. We live in NYC for long time and we also do restaurant business here. I know the rule of tip but you should not charge tip for small group of customer. You should not charge at all, it depends on customer satisfactions and your services. Most restaurants will charge tip with big group of customers not with two customers and bad services. The waitress should find another jobs, she is not suitable for waitress. The owner should realize about the problem. You might sue from customers about charge...

We are regular to this restaurant. We decided to have early dinner so waited there until their opening time which is 4:00pm. When we asked to come in they told us that they will open at 4:15. That was understandable. ( but the sign still says they open at 4:00pm). The food were served extremely late. It took 45min for over cooked yakidori don ( see the picture. I thought there was seaweed stuck on the piece of chicken but it was all burn like ash) 70min for the Donkatsu ( it was even undercooked. See the picture). Meal for 7 people were served with a long time lag bet each other with no explanation from the server. We were literally the first group who got the table and we ordered 4 udon, 8 pieces of sushi, 1 donkatsu and 1 yakitori don. Simple! We waited forever without any excuse from the server. No manager, no reception person were there. It looks like only 1 server was in charge for the entire dining hall. The worst part was they already included 20% tip on the bill because we were large group of 7 people. If they are not capable to operate the restaurant, they shouldn’t accept the people to dine in. It felt like scam to pay for the food & their service....

What a find this place is. I came about this building and was wondering how there was a restaurant in an office/residential luxury building.

The space is very quaint and cozy, but had a unique staircase effect inside.

I enjoyed a kaiseki dinner that was offered and some other dishes. All the fish and selections were fresh and delicious. Everything was beautifully plated. My favorite dishes had to be the fried scallops and the negitoro roll.

I would definitely come back for an occasion, this place is definitely great for a peaceful date night, but they could use a little music inside to creat more of an ambiance.

The last comment I have is that I wished the waitress would give me a little more time to enjoy one of the dishes. I was talking to my partner and it might have seem like I was done with my food. But otherwise, she was attentive to when I needed more tea or water.

Overall, I enjoyed the freshness of my food and intimacy I got with my partner because of the peaceful environment of...

Don't eat your chopsticks. It is rare to see actually good food nowadays. It is even more rare to see good food with excellent execution and presentation. And I think that Nare hits those marks easily. The place is small but when we got there it was packed. I mean almost completely. Given that it is located on billionaires row it has to keep the standards high but I don't think it's going to be difficult. The Omakase is one of the best I've seen around with A5 Wagyu, fish, and seafood imported from Japan. It's a rare sight to have a server explain to you exactly where your food comes from, most places just have it written on the menu if at all. The fish is fresh like I've not tasted in many restaurants. The sake is nicely complementing the food. The atmosphere is intimate and that makes the experience so wonderful. Definitely worth a visit more so before the business lunch crowds come back.
