Came here because it was next to one of my favorite bagel shops. We came here for dinner with a group of 3 at around 6:30 pm and nobody was around. Entire restaurant was empty and when we walked in, nobody was around to greet us for about 2 min. We were immediately seated and they gave us water and the menus.

I forgot the name of the dishes, sorry.

We weren't sure what to order but we ordered their basil mussels and fried crab "cakes" for appetizers.

For main course we ordered the fried fish with garlic sauce, massaman curry with duck, some kind of squid with thick flat white noodles.

Overall, everything was just okay, a little pricey and portion size were on the smaller side.

The basil mussel had nearly 0 basil leaves. Didn't taste any at all. Only good thing was that there wasn't any sand in the mussels.

The fried crab "cakes" were okay. Deeply fried and dry.

The massaman curry with duck was decent, they gave quite a bit of pieces of duck. Curry sauce, not enough. Could taste a little bit of the peanuts but not any bold flavors I expect from a thai restaurant.

The fried fish with garlic sauce was okay. The sauce was my favorite out of all the three dishes. The fish used was very thin and after it was fried, there wasn't much meat left to taste. Out of proportion of batter to fish. Definitely using lower quality fish to charge more.

The stir fried squid with long flat white noodles and broccoli was just okay. Reminded me more of a traditional chinese dish than a thai dish. Not super flavorful.

All in all, I would not come back here again, underwhelming. A lot of misses and very lack luster in terms of flavor profile. There are many more thai places to...

San Aroy is the neighborhood thai spot. I would say the food is better than the other thai places in ditmars, but it is by no means great thai food. For that, you'll need to make your way to elmhurst.

But, for the neighborhood, it CAN definitely hit the spot when you're having a thai craving. However, it has lots of issues with inconsistencies. There are times when I order food and it's great, while other times, it's just terrible. I'm not sure if this is because they have several different cooks working different shifts, or if the lone chef is just that inconsistent with his/her cooking.

The inconsistency is what ruins it for me. Otherwise, I'd give it 4 stars considering it is ditmars. It seems like a nice place to eat in, but if i was dining there and was getting food I wasn't expecting, I'd be very disappointed.

Bottom line: Give it a try but beware that return trips may result in disappointing experiences. Hopefully they can remedy...

So I ordered the first time on seamless, their new yellow curry fried rice to be delivered and I asked in the notes to substitute regular rice with coconut rice ; and the kitchen that time did it for me, and i’m not even joking when I say it was THE BEST FRIED RICE i have ever had. whoever took my order that day and made it is a genius, the flavors were insane with the sweetness of the coconut and the savory curry together. I tried to order the same thing a second time through seamless again, and a lady called me immediately saying that they don’t do that, it wouldn’t taste good, and called me “confused” when I apologized and said they did actually do it for me once before. I even offered to pay extra for the coconut rice to be made into the dish again and she basically said they would never do that and never have. so i’m rating 3 stars to mourn the loss of the #1 best fried rice my girlfriend and i have ever had, and for the rude lady on the...

LUNCH SPECIAL! Food - 5 out of 5 stars -One spring roll (the bomb); salad/soup and an entree for less than $10! -Got the salad. Delicious peanut sauce on top. And they use mixed greens which I love rather than just simply lettuce - Kee mao for the entree, well fried with the ‘wok hay’. Breath of wok! Simply delicious. And best of all, it does not feel greasy at all. Vegetarian option available Service - 5 out of 5 stars Everyone was wearing a mask etc Ambiance - 5 out of 5 stars Outdoor dining available! Very well built outdoor dining structure too

Food was truly gross. Ordered the pad thai with pork and the noodles were mushy, the pork tasted old, almost rotten like, and the pieces were greasy and stringy. Seasoning was nonexistent, legit tasted like they poured ketchup all over and called it a day. Truly a shame because I used to come to this place all the time and it was good affordable food. Let the staff know that the pork tasted off and they either didn't understand me or didn't care at all, so I didn't risk it and didn't finish eating. Will not be coming back.

Update March 2020: I visited this time just because I craved for Thai food so badly. I expected salty food BUT, food got much better and saltiness solved! Much better flavors and quality. Keep it up! I had Pad ki mao, tom yang soup(cream), mango salad, and thai ice tea. Salad and tom yang soup were great. Will visit again next time. Previous: It was okay. I tried three times in here and the food was always salty. It was delicious but too salty.
