Waiting for Niagara to reply my email will rate again after I get a response:
Out of my best intention I would respectfully share with you a really unpleasant experience with one of the bouncer while trying to enter your bar tonight.
I am a 27 year old Software Engineer at xxxx living in New York.
Tonight, as usual, my two friends and I disposed ourselves to go to Niagara. We usually start our night at Yuca and around 1:30 AM we cross the street to Niagara. This time we tried to enter Niagara earlier (around midnight).
When we arrived at the door, for my surprise, we observed there was no bouncer at the door. The only person we saw standing by was a 25-35 year old male wearing a hat who was chatting with some ladies and using his phone. I was with my passport in hand but the person didn't pay attention to us at all. We started entering the bar, and when my the last of my friends was crossing the door the person who I just described started to yell at us and ask us to leave the place immediately.
This didn't happen when me (the first of the group) crossed the entrance and open the second door, neither when my friend following me did so, but when the third and last person in my group was entering.
The now recognized bouncer (who, as I described before, was minding his own business on his phone and chatting with this ladies on the side) started to yell at us get out of the bar immediately.
My friends and I were really surprised of this reaction. I explained the bouncer what happened -- we were heading to the door and thought the bouncer was just a cool dude trying to pick up girls. I am a regular customer of the bar and every time I am checked ID, but this night after seeing the person standing at the door we thought maybe the bouncer is standing in the inside of the door for ID check.
Despite my reiterated intents of trying to explain to the bouncer what just happened, he just showed no intention to cooperate, insisting on (and I quote literal words from the bouncer) "leave now and try other night dude, not tonight dude... go away".
If you ask me, looked like the bouncer was just trying to look for a fight, or appear to be a person of power at his own bias judgment. I tried to calm us all down, start over with what happened, but the pedantic attitude we kept having form the bouncer made us leave.
I will not make judgement about this single night experience about Niagara, but I am certainly sure the bouncer was absolutely unprofessional and I ask you to intervene and put this person in place. I was holding a foreigner passport on my hand, I speak with an accent, but despite my efforts to make this person think over what was happening I kept getting the same phrase in a pedantic accent "not tonight bro, go away".
I am reachable at +xxxxxxxxxx if you would like to discuss further details about this encounter.
Looking forward to...
Read moreThe woman with the short hair who calls herself a “manager” is the RUDEST person I have ever met and doesn’t deserve to have a job here. I have lived in nyc for 34 years and I have never experience anything like this, especially at a dump like this bar. We were out celebrating the end of the work week and we are special education teachers who have a very demanding and difficult job. My friend accidentally bumped into her and of course apologized but she wasn’t having it. She then saw a tortilla I had that we had used earlier for a tiktok challenge with our students ( i know lol) and she snatched it from me and then kicked me out immediately. We had been to many other bars before and it wasn’t an issue. She could have nicely asked me to throw it away and I would have but she was so rude and nasty. She needs to be fired because judging from the comments, she has done this before. Please don’t waste your time or money...
Read moreThis used to be one of my favorite bars as of the few remaining rock ‘n’ roll bars. I remember going here when the strokes were regulars and it was an amazing atmosphere until very recently. I went here tonight with a new person from out of town. I walked in first and she could not find her ID, so I stepped to the side out of the way to make sure she got in. Security asked me to move to inside which I did but apparently I was not far enough into the bar so they kept pushing me in further, and I explained that my friend who is not from here is not inside, and I want to make sure that she is OK. They said why be inside if you don’t want to be here and I told them that’s not the issue. I want to make sure my friend gets in and they would not have it and asked me to leave. Happily since this iconic rock bar sold out and was playing vomit top 40s pop. Not worth it. I...
