So, my lady and I decided to embark on an early dinner adventure. We eagerly ordered what sounded like a feast fit for kings: the Perfect Korean Chicken Wings, Shumai, Kara'age Garlic Chicken Ramen, HM Pork Belly Ramen, and a duo of refreshing sodas to wash it all down.
But alas, our culinary journey hit a few bumps along the way. Upon our grand entrance, we were met with a less-than-grand greeting – a distant voice instructing us to plop ourselves down wherever we pleased. Our hopes for a warm welcome were dashed quicker than you can say "appetite."
As we settled in, our hopes of a refreshing sip were crushed by the lukewarm water served to us. Lukewarm water? More like lukewarm reception, am I right?
Now, onto the main event: the food. The Perfect Korean Chicken Wings were indeed seasoned to perfection and fried with finesse. But alas, the wings themselves seemed to have seen better days. Note to self: fresh wings are the wing to go!
My lady managed to find solace in the comforting embrace of the garlic chicken ramen broth. However, the chicken itself left much to be desired. The chunks resembled more of a culinary misstep than a masterpiece, leaving our eyes less than impressed.
As for my pork belly ramen, well, let's just say it was as dry as the Sahara and about as fresh-tasting as last week's leftovers.
But wait, it gets worse! Just as we were contemplating our dining experience, we noticed something quite alarming – the exterminator casually setting traps and laying bait while unsuspecting diners like us were trying to enjoy their meals. Talk about a buzzkill!
Seriously, who thought it was a good idea to have extermination in progress while patrons were trying to eat? Note to restaurant management: extermination and digestion don't mix well – like oil and water, or in this case, like rodents and ramen.
In conclusion, while the food had its moments, the overall experience left much to be desired. Here's hoping for warmer welcomes, fresher wings, and pest-free dining in the future. Cheers to culinary adventures, even if they come with a side of...

Upon walking in, the first thing I noticed were the high ceilings and openness of the room. Greeted by welcoming staff, we were seated to roomy, clean, sleek modern japanese styled tables and chairs. The decor is simple, classy, and well put together. The playlist comprised of eclectic instrumental music I've never heard of, but was immediately drawn to and gave for an easy and relaxed atmosphere.
Starting with an appetizer, the crispy pork gyozas were tasty with just the right amount of crisp. The soy/vinaigrette dipping sauce paired perfectly it. We had noodles for the main dish, of course. I sampled my friend's Yuzu Ramen which was refreshing in all of it's citrussy goodness. I built my own ramen bowl with the pork base soup with udon, chashu, mushrooms, marinated egg, and bok choy. I've never had such a bowl filled with so much richness, flavor, and depth. I can taste the quality in each of the ingredients.
We also tried a couple of their specialty drinks from their endless cocktails menu. I had a perfectly balanced Shanghai Margarita and my friend had Beirut Nights which consisted of delightful floral and herbal notes. The drinks were creative, fresh, bold and powerful...the works of a true mixologist! Lastly, the Threes Chocolates dessert was just divine. Served in a glass, it is true decadence with its smooth, rich chocolate, accentuated by the soft hazelnut crunchy texture. It reminds me of a Rocher chocolate, but tastefully enhanced.
I can't believe Oishi isn't as well known as it should be, but it won't be a hidden secret for long. So much careful thought was put into every dish and element of this establishment, something that is so rare and special these days. This place is a masterpiece. Come soon, before the crowds take over.
My experience here was so enlightening that I was compelled to write this Google review, my first ever. Thank you, Oishi (and Bobby!), for giving me the...

This was my 2nd visit and it did not disappoint. We had an appetizer of Steamed Shumi, generous and delicious portions of crispy chicken ramen, two rounds of drinks and all with great service. On my last visit, I had the Pork Belly Ramen and when I return, it will be very difficult to decide between the two as both dishes were outstanding. My friends are equally impressed and we have been to plenty of Ramen Houses in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
This restaurant is on a quaint little corner on 3rd Avenue and is the site of the former longstanding Korean Chicken House.
They also offer a dimly lit and charming "Speak Easy" style Bar at the rear of the restaurant where you can have cocktails with your Ramen but we chose the more traditional restaurant seating in the front. Along with an extensive Beer and Wine Menu, Oishi also had a VERY exciting and unique Craft Cocktail list courtesy of this Speak Easy mentioned above.
Needless to say, this dining spot is recommended and is a much needed addition to our neighborhood.
There are very few improvements but eventually, I would like a more extensive Ramen "Add On" menu and dimmer lighting in the front section of the restaurant. Regardless, this is a fabulous spot with amazing food. Fun for...
