I’ve lived in this area for about a decade, and I’ve seen this building become different businesses over the years. A cool, swanky restaurant sounded cliche, but the fine diner and critic in me couldn’t resist coming. I’m glad I did.
We walked in, and were quickly greeted by the owner, and sat a cute table for 2 in the corner. The beverages came quickly,(though I think the cocktail menu has room for growth) they were tasty.
The food on the other hand was delicious! We ordered the chicharrones and sopas with chorizo as an appetizer, and were amazed by how good it was. THE SOPAS are a must try!
Then we got the branzino and fideo seco as our entrees. Both were incredible, branzino was cooked to perfection (crispy skin, flavorful fillet, and deboned). The fideo seco was a unique pasta experience that made me wanting more. My only comment would be to make the fideo seco portion bigger. But for $15, I can’t complain.
We ended our meal with the frutas de chamoy, the fruit was fresh, they knew how to properly incorporate gooseberries, and it was the perfect end to our meal.
I look forward to coming back and seeing the...
Read moreThe food here was excellent. It's fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen is putting a lot of care into the menu. Unfortunately, the service experience left a sour note.
Our server came over to check on us literally every 10 minutes. At first it seemed attentive, but after a while it became disruptive and we actually started timing it because it was so frequent. Finally in just under two hours into our meal, we were told that they needed our table.
When you’re spending a good amount of money on dinner, you expect to be able to enjoy it without feeling rushed. A restaurant experience isn’t just about the food. It's about hospitality, pacing, and atmosphere. We left feeling pressured rather than relaxed, which was disappointing.
I’d love to come back because the kitchen is clearly doing great work, but I hope the service approach improves so that diners can actually enjoy the meal at...
Read moreI was apprehensive at first with the prices in the menu. Being from the neighborhood and seeing a new restaurant so close to home is a real treat, especially one that is offering a metropolitan experience.
I have to say I was very delighted with the staff and the owner who shared his knowledge of mescals. Although the restaurant was very busy he did take the time to chat with us and go through the knowledge of mezcals. I would only say it should not be the owners responsibility to give that knowledge and expertise as all your team members should be as passionate for your menu options.
I want this place to be a successful addition and highly recommend because everything we had was delicious and worth the price.
Favorite cocktail was the Piedras!
I would love to see some other items in their short menu but understand that smaller options make for better food! Maybe add a dessert...
