No frills. Just good food made to order. We absolutely loved the preparation of the purple eggplant. It came out piping hot and remained that way for the entire meal. The walnut shrimp plate was a delight as well, I was super happy that even the broccoli was well seasoned. The salt level was great and freshness of the shrimp. The quality of the meat in the sweet-and-sour chicken was exactly what we were hoping for. Usually restaurants slack off in this department because it’s fried and covered in sauce but this plate did not disappoint. In addition to these three main course options we had an order of white rice on the side and enjoyed the lovely tea. Usually we go to Chinatown for this style of cuisine but appears we have this gem among us here in Brooklyn. As we were eating we noticed a lot of people had some beautiful and extravagant dishes being dropped off to their table. Can’t wait to go back and try more ( like one of the meat platters or the lobster fried rice). This place is definitely recommended for family style dining because all of the portions are so huge and definitely worth sharing. This place would also be great for a celebration, they have bigger tables and once all the food is on the table it all looks so beautiful and special. Not sure if they have drinks because we ended up drinking the tea that was served on arrival the whole time. Also we requested hot sauce and hot chili oil which is a must on the side.

I’ve been here a few times with my parents for dine-in dim sum pre-Covid era. This time, we called ahead for a pick up order on a Sunday for 12 pm. We ordered a beef/bitter melon rice, fried fish and tofu rice, chicken and salted fish fried rice, and a bunch of dim sum, which included the usual suspects. I appreciate the fact that they let you order dim sum ahead too. This way, you’re not fighting at the counter with the Chinese grandmas, trying to get your order in. Everything was correct and packaged neatly. But the actual food just isn’t as good anymore. The rice dishes were fine. The fried rice was packed to the brim, but it would have been nice if there was more salted fish in it, if there was any at all. It was also pretty bland. Dim sum is bland as well. The worst of the bunch was probably the honeycomb tripe. It was bland but just didn’t taste great. Dim sum spots in this hood are slim pickins’. I’d come back for rice or noodle dishes but for dim sum, I would probably rather buy the frozen ones from the bakery down a few blocks and just cooking it myself.

Have you ever tried an authentic food? You should try. New York is an amazing place where diversity of culture is shared. If you want to try Chinese cuisine you can start from Ave U in Brooklyn. Freshly made, delicious and very affordable. Wing Hing Seafood Restaurant is one of my favourite ones. 20$ bill for two in lunch time. Isn’t that amazing? And overall you will never regret the food. Hot, fresh appetisers such as SiuMai, shrimp rice rolls, dumplings and on and on….Especially in lunch time you can try all kinds of them. You are getting a special list just for all those delicious things. And if you’re still not full order any main dish on rice. For example, Roast pig over rice. 😋 Tiny, crispy fried skin on top of juicy and tender meat. Or try pork chops Pekin style. Flavorful sweet and sour red sauce made this dish always a winner. There is a choice of beef, pork, chicken. And I f you are a vegetarian you will be happy with the variety of different dishes for you too. All food extremely fresh and tasty. And on the top you always get a free pot of green tea.

A weekend my friend and I went to Wing Hing Restaurant for dim sum. We used to go there at the weekend. According to the rules, customers had to get a number and then wait in line for a seat.

Two lady guests arrived after us, but they didn't queue and sat down at a medium-sized table. Then, one of the staff told them to get up because the table was for five.

At that time, the staff told us to sit at another table because we already had a number and that there was a seat available, so we always followed the rules.

The two lady guests who arrived later complained to the owner, saying that my friend and I were seated first since they arrived first.

The owner then walked over to my friend and my table and, in a loud and rude tone, told us that we had to follow the restaurant's rules.

Of course, I was furious because we had no idea what was going on and were just waiting to be seated.

I had no choice but to raise my voice and tell the owner that we have done nothing wrong and wanted to understand why we were being treated so unreasonably and unjustly.

This made us even angrier, because the whole thing wasn't our fault at all. I find out that the two lady guests were the friend of the owner who complained unseasonably. My friend and I felt it was extremely unfair and completely unacceptable to the owner.

I’ve been a customer for several years, but the quality has gone downhill badly. The food is no longer tasty or consistent — many dishes now taste bland and poorly prepared. Prices have increased twice a year, but the quality keeps dropping. It feels unreasonable to pay so much for food that used to be much better.

Customer service has also become a serious issue. Some staffs are often rude and inattentive, showing little care or respect toward customers. Even worse, one of the owner behaves unprofessionally, speaking loudly and unreasonable and disrespectfully to guests in front of others. This kind of attitude is unacceptable in hospitality.

It’s disappointing to see a place that once had potential lose its sense of quality and respect for customers.

It feels like the management only cares about profit, not about maintaining standards or customer satisfaction.

The customer service is unacceptably bad. Some staffs are often rude and dismissive, showing no sense of professionalism. The owner, in particular, is very unprofessional and impolite, speaking loudly and disrespectfully to customers in public. It’s embarrassing and unpleasant to witness.

After several disappointing visits, I’ve decided not to come back. This place no longer deserves the reputation it once had. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant to anyone who values good food and...
