Great bagels, but we had a very challenging experience with a larger catering order. Ordered in store with a very helpful manager for a Sunday morning pickup of bagels, cream cheese, lox, and coffee. The day of pick up a different person called repeatedly before 7am because the credit card "wasn't working" and they couldn't get any of the two other cards I supplied to work either. It was clearly their system as they called back 2 hours later when they got the original card to work (with no apology for the early morning hassle). They then called repeatedly to hassle us to pick up the order when they had told me the pick up time was flexible when I placed the order (this started within barely 15 minutes of the time I had asked for, they claimed they didn't have room to handle holding the large order but no one had mentioned that until then). And when we did pick up the order they failed to give us any of the cream cheese and lox I had ordered. We had to call again and argue with them, and return to the store before they realized they had forgotten to give us one of the bags they had packed, and charged me for. The place was not busy enough for them to be this frazzled, and there was never a sufficient apology for the multiple mistakes and issues on their part. Everything was delicious, but they shouldn't be taking large orders if they cannot actually accommodate them in a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife was having surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, and we ended up having to stay for 3 days in the hospital. 2 days longer than expected. I went to Pick a Bagel because it was right at the corner, and I didn't want to be far from my wife and take too long to come back. I ended up going back every day. Something about the bagels reminded me of when my mom used to take me to bagel spots in the city on our way to her cleaning job for rich people in the area. I get bagels all the time in NJ, but something was different about the bagels. Maybe it's the water. I'm not saying it had blown my mind away good or even better than what I get in NJ, but there was something that instantly hit me about the taste of the bacon, egg, and cheese. I really did enjoy the bagels. The only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because the corn muffins are trash. Tasted like it was mass produced and had no real corn muffin taste. I was just as excited for the corn muffin as I was the bagel, after eating the bagel. I had high expectations but that was some bland powdery tasting muffins. Very disappointed, I can't get a good corn muffin anywhere anymore. No one uses real corn in the muffins anymore. Everywhere you go it's some bland corn powder mix. NO flavor. I'm sure there are better spots, but this is the one I went to because it was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNOT RECOMMENDED!! Today I bought a Chicken Caprice panini at the Lexington Ave store. The meat was extremely bad, stinky. I didn't even realize it when I opened the box , only when I took the first bite. The taste was terrible. I went back to the store immediately and told them what happened. The guy in charge were just pointing the sign on the wall says, no refund and repeated the same thing over and over. They were forcing me to get another panini. I told them I want nothing from them anymore, I can't even eat at the moment, I still felt the horrible taste in my mouth and I want the 13 dollars back but they were absolutely not helpful. He told me either I get another one or we are done. He was worried about what to tell his boss about the money? Not about me getting sick from the bad meat or the reputation of the store because of his rudeness. I was basically kicked out of the store. No food, no money. It's outrageous!! And it's not about the 13 dollars but the way they handled the situation. Also, this is robbery. They literally took out money from my pocket and give nothing for. If I let this happen over and over, I will have no money at the end of the day. So I will file...
