We wanted to support a Black woman-owned business and decided to check out this restaurant.

What we ordered:

Chorizo Fries - served cold and deconstructed. The shoestring fries appeared to be frozen and not fresh cut. Chicken & Waffles - served cold and mushy because the dish was served with the butter and syrup drizzled on it and the chicken atop. When asked for extra syrup, we were informed there was a $2 upcharge, which makes no sense given the menu, which indicates the dish comes with butter and syrup. Also, the waffle lacked flavor. Plain Waffle + Candied Bacon - both served cold. The candied bacon was just bacon tossed in a syrup-hotsauce mixture. Hazelnut Coffee (spiked) - cold and inconsumable - sent it back. Lychee Bellini - just okay.

Service: While pleasant, our server, who never disclosed her name, appeared to lack an understanding of the menu. The coffee she prepared was cold and watered down, and the attempt to spike it failed miserably. When she was informed of such, the recommendation to just add more coffee made no sense. There was also a general lack of caring about our experience.

The Ludlow location leaves nothing to be desired. It's a hole in the wall with potential, but it fell flat. It touts a boozy all-day brunch, but if you want liquor, you have to go to the other location, which isn't advertised. The pictures on the site vs. what you receive are vastly different. Given that it only seats 8-10 ppl, you would think the experience would be spectacular. I am not inclined to give this place another chance, but hopefully, they can turn...

My sister invited me here for a birthday brunch a few weeks ago after seeing the owner interviewed on the news. She thought it was a cute concept and knows how much I love all day breakfast joints. I was excited to try the place out after looking at the website. To both of our surprise, the place itself is very run down and tiny (understatement). There's literally 3 tables cramped together in the back of what is essentially a dinette. No decor, no windows, no frills! Not what they post on their website or Instagram. In fact there's pictures of where they've catered which is deceiving (find out when we got there). Service was friendly but the owner who was cooking was not hospitable and looked like she had a rough night. The food was lack luster and served on tin or aluminum plates that were cold hence the food got cold almost immediately, especially since I had eggs. I had the eggs and chorizo side. The dish is served with mole, which I love, but this mole seemed like it was just scooped out of a cold container and was gelatinous vs saucy. The fries were sparing and the cilantro garnish wasn't fresh. Sad presentation for a dish that sounded really appetizing but fell flat. The candied bacon is a complete soggy miss. We asked for it well done and crispy but the server said it only comes one way - soggy lol. My sister's waffle was ok but not for the money. You definitely don't get your money's worth here. With all the amazing diners in NYC we unfortunately won't be...

I’ve walked past this establishment many times. It has always seemed inviting and welcoming and I love their signage they have on the street. Today I decided to stop in for brunch: this was my only day off to get brunch because I work in the industry and I had high hopes. First, I walked in and the door was extremely difficult to open and the bartender made me walk back over to shut the door. Me and my friend sat at the bar and at first we were very excited to look at the menu and order drinks. We had asked the bartender several questions and were wanting to get mimosas in a larger portion and instead of him explaining why they don’t offer it he just bluntly said “no, I don’t made the rules here”. The cocktails were the best part of our experience, however I had to ask the bartender 3 times for water and to remind him of our coffee order. He seemed more interested in talking to his female coworker and had a vibe shift between speaking with her vs customers. As someone who manages and runs a night club and has 5+ years in hospitality, this service was extremely unacceptable- there were less than 8 people in the restaurant. When our food did come out, it was lack luster in taste, presentation, and overall bang for your buck. I had ordered a side of bacon that never came out but luckily the bartender had completely forgotten that and didn’t add it to the bill. Overall extremely disappointed in the experience and would not go back, nor would I recommend this...

Tasty brunch fare! Came here with two friends and renjoyed The Conductor - I'm normally a chicken & waffles fanatic, but this was a tasty substitute with the chicken, cornbread, and syrup. Friends had The Sweet Delores and Garlic, Mushroom, & Goat Cheese Omelette, and we ordered fries for the table. We all agreed that food was good but the one gripe we had was portion size - for $8, we expected a full plate of fries, not the pile pictured. Compared to other brunch places from this same area, it was definitely less. I will say that my dish was enough to satisfy a craving without stuffing me but again, the price for the portion ratio was not as satisfying. Side notes: outdoor dining is very cramped. Wait staff was a bit too attentive - coming to check on us every few minutes, taking dishes the second they were done, and bringing the bill out almost immediately made us feel unwelcome and rushed.
