Edited review: I had a coworker take mercy on me for my cinnamon roll craving and offered to pick me up some cinnamon rolls their morning break, so was able to try a few flavors. My coworker arrived to the shop around 9:15am on a Tuesday and said there was a short line. When they got inside quite a few flavors were already sold out. The flavors I wanted: caramel pecan (sold out), blueberry lemon curd (sold out), and bananas foster (available). Since two of the flavors I wanted were sold out, my coworker chose chocolate babka, strawberry earl grey, and bananas foster. Of the three, bananas foster was by far the best. It had a similar gooey, cinnamon flavor to a traditional cinnamon roll with the bananas foster flavor throughout. Chocolate babka was just okay, it didn’t have a frosting so it was the “drier” of the flavors and only really tasted of chocolate, not a lot of depth of flavor; I felt like it needed something, but not sure what. The strawberry earl grey was my least favorite. The roll was good, but strawberry and earl grey flavors didn’t compliment cinnamon roll base. For the two iced rolls, the icing felt a little “loose”, but I enjoyed the flavor cream cheese icing on the bananas foster.

Pros: the cinnamon roll dough is soft and all the rolls have a great fluffy texture. You can tell they are made with love and care. The flavors are unique and intriguing.

Cons: I didn’t find that I felt the need to return and have the flavors I tried again. I felt like trying them once was enough, however I wonder if I’d been able to try a more classic/signature cinnamon roll if I’d feel differently. These are really good cinnamon rolls, but I wasn’t blown away by them.

I’d love to see a spot like this be a neighborhood spot that people can go into anytime, and I do think the buzz is warranted given I don’t know if there are any other cinnamon roll only bakeries. I hope they increase their inventory so that they can offer rolls all day. I would love to try more flavors but from what I tasted, I wouldn’t wait in line or go at opening for the chance.

—— I hate that I am writing this review, as I don’t bother often, but I think people should be aware that the cinnamon rolls are not available all day. I do know this can be common with bakeries in the city, but without many other reviews or a way to contact the shop, I wasn’t sure. Sunday Morning is about an 8 minute walk from my job and I am 8 months pregnant (really excited for some special cinnamon rollsđŸ˜č and probably also why I’m extra disappointed. IYKYK).

Prior to using my lunch break to walk over, I tried calling in advance using the number on the website (there’s none listed on google). I wasn’t able to get through, so I decided to take the chance and walk. This fact is more the basis for my rating and why I want to leave a review so other potential patrons know. When I arrived around 12:10 - 12:15, there was a hand written small note on the door that said “sold out”. The hours listed are 9am to 4pm. I was able to ask a few questions and the employees answered kindly. However, my rating is based on the fact that there seems to be no way to contact the store to find out whether there’s any cinnamon rolls in stock. I would like to try again and update my rating, based on the cinnamon rolls, but with nearly a 20 minute round trip walk, I’m not sure I’d chance it again. I was told I can try to text the number, and, again, the employees were very kind and apologetic that the cinnamon rolls were sold out. If you want cinnamon rolls, I’d advise going within the first 2 hours of opening as they stated they sold out by 11:30am. The only other offerings were coffee. I was able to salvage my lunch break by going to Supermoon and getting...

I was so excited about visiting this restaurant after it was profiled on a national news show. Customers were waiting in long lines to get inside this restaurant which only sells cinnamon rolls. I thought the timing of the broadcast was perfect because it was close to my trip to NYC and I absolutely love cinnamon rolls. I was really surprised when I arrived around 10:45 am and there was only one customer in front of me. I was even more surprised when the employee (young lady with a foreign accent) completely ignored me. After assisting the man in front of me, she immediately turned her back to me and pretended as if she was working on the table behind her. I waited a few minutes to see if she was going to turn around and acknowledge me. Eventually she did turn around, however she continued to ignore me. I asked her if she was still helping customers. Ordinarily, I would have turned around and left, however, it took me a long time to find that place. Finally, she took my order. Not only was she rude, she can’t count money and should not be working the cash register. My total was $8.71. I gave her $10.01 and she only gave me a quarter back in change. When I brought the error to her attention, she still was unable to give me the correct change. After three attempts, she finally gave me the correct change. It is a shame that business establishments don’t understand the significance of good customer service. It does not matter how good the product is if the customer service is horrible. The chocolate cinnamon roll that I purchased was ok. It was not that great where I would go back on my next...

Tldr; middle of the pack. Definitely not worth the hour line. I can't understand the hype besides the fact that I suppose it is the only bakery dedicated exclusively to cinnamon rolls that isn't named Cinnabon.

Detailed review: Be sure to come at open if you want a shot. They tend to sell out at noon. That said, my experience was an hour wait on a Sunday. Once you get to the ordering process, don't expect that you can order any flavor. I believe they mislead you on their social media and website. When you get to order, they rotate the trays as they make them so they won't have all the flavors available at best. At worst, flavors will sell out. So for me my options were limited. I went with the caramel and the blueberry curd.

The cream cheese frosting was very sour and unbalanced. Lacked depth and sweetness. It pretty much tasted like straight up cream cheese, not a lot of "frosting" flavor. The rolls were very lacking in cinnamon or matter of fact, any flavor on the inside. It seems their gimmick is that they piled up the roll with toppings but not a lot of flavor is baked in. And they are not even warm either. Once they come out of the oven, they put all the toppings By the time you bite on it, if you are lucky it is lukewarm, if not it is just cold from the toppings. Add that to the punishing line and honestly I don't see myself coming back.

I suppose it is ok for a one and done experience. You know, to post on the Tok or the gram. Otherwise, I think there are a myriad of bakeries that make a better cinnamon roll in the city that will satisfy your Sunday Morning craving in a more satisfying...

I came here on Presidents’ Day after seeing all of the hype on Instagram. I knew very little about the place and I live nearby so I decided to stop in and see what the hype was about. I arrived around noon and it wasn’t crowded at all but there were no cinnamon rolls left. There was a sign saying they would fresh cinnamon rolls served at 1pm. So, I decided to walk around the neighborhood and come back closer to 1pm. I came back around 12:48 and the store had gone from being mostly empty to having a line of 50-60 people waiting outside. The temperature was around the freezing mark, windy, and sunny. At 1pm, the line started moving but had grown to about double the size. I was ordering my cinnamon roll by 1:20pm, so about 30 minutes on line in total. Each person was allowed no more than two cinnamon rolls. They had several flavors, including a traditional with cream cheese or vanilla icing. I chose the caramel pecan cinnamon roll. It was so delicious. Having a freshly made cinnamon roll is so much better than one that is heated up. The staff were also nice and they didn’t seem overwhelmed by the rush of people waiting to get a cinnamon roll. There were also plenty of cinnamon rolls in all of the flavors available when I got to order. I definitely would say the cinnamon roll lived up to the hype. I would recommend trying this place, despite the length of the line. I plan to go back and I cannot wait to try to the other flavors.

Experience the CINN-sation!! 🌀 Sunday Morning Cinnamon Rolls! đŸ€Ž đŸ”„ Hottest Spot in Town! Open just over four weeks, people are waiting an hour in line just to get a taste! 👅 But on a Monday morning, no line AND I snagged a seat! 🍓 Strawberry Earl Grey 💚 Pistachio Co-founder Ahmet Kiranbay is Turkish, and the pistachio cinnamon roll pays homage to his heritage. As a Desi Girl, I love that pistachios are a staple in Indian culture too! Ahmet was very kind and made sure I got to try one. 10/10! There’s also an ube cinnamon roll inspired by co-founder Armando Litiatco and the Philippines, but I didn’t spot it on this visit. 🌀 They have 10 flavors but not all flavors are out at once! If you’re craving something specific, just ask—Pistachio wasn’t on display when I arrived, but they had it ready within 10 minutes. đŸ€Ž They’ve got seating, WiFi, and a bathroom—perfect if you need a little break. 💰 Inspiration & Bang for Your Buck: Co-founder Armando took inspiration from Cinnabon, but these rolls take things to the next level with fantastic flavors. At $8.50, it’s a solid value—especially considering Cinnabon charges $6.50 for a standard roll. IG: Snack.with.Sue

Sunday Morning 29 Avenue B New York, NY 10009 Cream Cheese Frosted Blueberry Lemoncurd Located in the East Village is local breakfast cafĂ© specializing in cinnamon rolls. When I saw the long line, I knew I had to give this place a try! Here are a couple of the cinnamon rolls I explored. Cream Cheese Frosted: This original flavored bun had a heaping mound of cream cheese frosting with a fair share of cinnamon. It didn’t have the best physical appearance, but the taste was spot on. Blueberry Lemoncurd: You won’t have to search very hard to notice the overwhelming mound of blueberries with a hint of lemon atop this specialty pastry. This also had a sloppy look, but none of that mattered as soon as I took my first bite. In spite of its messiness, I highly recommend this breakfast treat.
