Pio Bagel Flatbush — Restaurant in New York

Pio Bagel on Flatbush has become MY bagel place. The bagels are just perfect, soft on the inside, a little bit of chew, not too tall, with enough salt in the dough to make every bit balanced, a literal wall of options. They offer a great gluten free bagel and tofu cream cheese to suit your friends with dietary preferences. They offer close to twenty cream cheese options, a list of egg sandwiches and cold cut sandwiches, muffins, French toast, pancakes, omelettes, and smoothies. They sometimes have the coveted rainbow bagels, which I recommend with blueberry cream cheese for maximum squee. If you're feeling extra, the jalapeno cheddar bagel is soooo good. They let you order online for pick up, which is my favorite bit, because then your bagels are ready for you when you swing by.

Staff are EXCELLENT. When I put in orders ahead online on Clover, if I couldn't find the right combination, someone will call me, confirm what I wanted, and get the right sandwich in the bag with any price adjustments pronto. They're friendly, fast, and seem happy to be there even though it's a popular place.

Let me tell you the level of frustration. I used to love going here, so quick and convenient next to my job. Then they started messing up my order, which never changes. A toasted bagel with butter and scallion cream cheese and a hot chocolate, simple. Idk anymore because I have ordered delivery, my orders been wrong. I’ve done pick up and my orders been wrong. And I’ve gone in and ordered myself, still have gotten wrong orders. What I don’t understand is it’s so simple they either use the wrong bagel, or they forget the whole bagel or even worse give me a plain bagel when I asked for aneverything with only butter not even toasted. Or with cream cheese. How many times do you have to get it wrong. I wanted to keep giving them the benefit of the doubt because the employees are so nice but now I’m just annoyed and see that they might have a lot going on but that doesn’t mean every customer can’t get great service as well… but anyways all and all Don’t go here. This bagel was worse than I anticipated.

I ordered the strawberry bagel with blueberry cream cheese.

Under the lights in there I did not realize that the strawberry bagel was neon pink… why ?!

When I tried the bagel and cream cheese, I was shocked by how savory these flavors were.

The strawberry bagel tasted like an asiago bagel.

The blueberry cream cheese tasted like jalapeño and not much like blueberry.

Since both the bagel and cream cheese were trying to be fruity & sweet, it poorly executed this goal and poorly executed a savory bagel, creating a very strange and rubbery flavor that truly baffled me.
