Our waiter was dismissive and flippant. My coworker (eating keto) asked about switching the potatoes out for another vegetable, the waiter told him you can only switch potato for potato, and when we asked about subbing for some broccoli were told it'd be a $3 upcharge, which then suddenly became a $5 upcharge during the same, and when called on that price difference said it's actually the side of broccoli for a $8 charge (I think it was actually going to be $8.95 from the menu)... The entire exchange was frustrating and I don't understand the lying about the price, hoping we'd agree to it and call it a mistake or misunderstanding later? (Meanwhile, the waitress serving the table behind us offered her table a vegetable substitute for potato for the same dish without any hassle or upcharge). Our waiter completely avoided us after that, and never came to check on our food. When we wanted the bill, he would serve and stop at all the tables around us but intentionally skip us, and I had to make a scene to get the bill, calling out "excuse me" loud enough to be heard across the restaurant as he tried turning his back on us again. We waited over 20 minutes to get the bill before we finally approached and were promptly served by the maître d', our waiter still ignoring us. Another table nearby commiserated stating their service was lousy too and they had been waiting a long time for their entrees.

Unfortunately the food wasn't much better, I think there's a lot of tourist traffic here due to the proximity to Times Square so they don't really have to deliver. The prix fixe Chicken Oscar was the most overcooked bland piece of chicken I've had in a long time, the "velvety hollandaise sauce" was nearly non-existent and the tablespoon of it they put on my chicken was watered down to almost a thin broth. The "jumbo lump crab meat" was the bottom scrapings of canned crab meat, there wasn't what could be considered a lump of jumbo anything even after it was gathered up, the asparagus was overcooked, the potatoes on my plate were undercooked (still nearly hard in the centers) and equally unseasoned, disappointing all around.

You can do much better in the area than this place, especially...

My wife and I were in New York just before the US Thanksgiving. After a day of sight seeing we stopped in at Rosie O’ Gradys. We arrived just before 4pm on a Tuesday. It was not busy at all however it began to fill up quickly for the dinner hour. This establishment is on two levels the upper portion is a restaurant and the the lower portion is a pub. My wife and I did not attend the pub. We ordered off of the advertised price fix menu. The menu consisted of 3 courses appetizer, main coarse and desert. My wife and I both had the French Onion Soup which we both found to be quite good. for my main dish I had the Rack of Lamb, with balsamic and port win reduction, mashed potatoes and broccoli rabe. My wife had the Breast of Chicken Oscar, topped with jumbo lump of crab meat, asparagus and velvety hollandaise sauce, and roasted potatoes. Both of these dishes were both very good quality and i would recommend them to any one. For desert I had the New York Cheese Cake, and my wife had the Chocolate Mouse with Gran Marnier. All of the courses were were well done, and the service was very prompt. We had been served bread prior to dinner with butter. The beer selection was small but it served the purpose, they also served up a decent wine list. While my my wife and I were eating this meal the chef came out of the kitchen believing that a mistake with what we were served had been made, we assured him that we had received what we had ordered and that everything was great. He then went back to the kitchen and then returned, to apologize again, for having disturbed out dinner. We assured him again that everything was fine, and that we were enjoying everything. His conscientious approach was greatly appreciated. The only downside we saw was that we were served by 4 different servers, we weren’t sure who our server actually was. This was a 3 coarse meal with drinks and coffee. Our bill came out to 146.00 Canadian including a 15% tip. I would recommend this establishment, the interior gives the impression of an upscale restaurant without the...

Food was very good, but the service was horrific. The waitstaff seemed like they had never served a large party before (30 to 40). This is coming from a former waiter. Menu was fixed price with limited options which helps the kitchen out, but it didn't seem to help the servers. They were all friendly and courteous, but totally clueless.

They never knew who ordered what. Plates arrived randomly. Did know one write down the position numbers for each dish? This is waiting 101. Dessert orders were taken before dinner was served. That included coffee orders. Very odd. Did it help later on? Nope. Plates were auctioned off.

The sides of the same entrees were different from one another. Broccoli on one, spinach on the other. Some beet salads had no beets. There were long gaps between plates so half the table sat waiting for the other half to get served so as not to be rude. It was awkward. Finally we told one another it was ok to start because we didn't want the food to get cold. On the plus side it all tasted good, portions were generous and presentation was great. The restaurant is very spacious and clean.

An entire table was served dessert and ice cream but without spoons. By the time the spoons arrived all the ice cream had melted and the chocolate lava cake got cold. Making sure the proper utensils are on the table before food is served is very basic.

Remember the coffee order earlier on? Nope , neither did the waitstaff. Dessert was eaten long before coffee was served which we had to ask for 3 times. When it was served there was no cream or sugar on the table.

The table that seemed to get most of the attention was the one with the hosts. However, when I asked one of the people who sat at that table how the service was they replied 'awful'.

So if I were dining with a small table (2 to 4 people) I would eat here again. But a large party? Never. It's a shame. Perhaps with the pandemic and labor shortage they had to hire inexperienced people. Time will tell. I wish them luck because this place has a lot...

I really wanted to give 5 stars because I adore the old Rosie O'Grady, but man, talk about a letdown! My expectations were sky-high, but this visit? Huge disappointment. Doubt I'll be back anytime soon. Let's start with the food. I ordered the chicken with linguini. Either the chicken was flavorless or overwhelmed with herbs, and the seasoning? Completely uneven. And don't get me started on the mountain of spinach on top – turned the whole thing into this weird sour herb-chicken mess. Plus, it was dry as the Sahara. Tried to soldier through but ended up waving the white flag halfway through. The calamari? Eh, passable. You could tell it was thawed-out frozen stuff, but at least it was edible. Service-wise, our server was alright – tried to keep me happy, which I appreciate. But management? I seriously question their game plan. My server actually mentioned my food concerns to them, but did they do anything? Nope. Didn't even admit the food wasn't up to snuff. Their approach is just baffling. Oh, and here's a heads up: if you pay with plastic, expect a sneaky little credit card fee and some tax on that fee. Classy move, right? Seems like this place is all about the old name with none of the quality, just plain corporate greed.

I went there last saturday and i have never been rush like i was on this restaurant. When we walk in at 11:15 and the host told us that we could seat in the restaurant or in the bar; we choose the restaurant because we wanted to eat and the moment we sat down the server told us that we needed to rush to order food cause the kitchen was going to close (keep in mind that nobody told us anything when we walk in) we told him that we needed to send the picture of the menu to a friend so she could choose something and he just left and not even 2 minutes after we was in the table again saying that if we didn’t want to order food he could take the order for the drinks. We ended up ordering just apps and not even half hour after (when we were still eating) he said that if we weren’t finished we needed to take our things to the bar cause they were closing the restaurant. It is of course understandable that everybody wants to go home after a long shift specially in the food industry (I’m a chef myself so I understand) but if the host would’ve told us that we needed to rush we would’ve chosen another place.
