I have no words as to how unprofessional this place is. For background I worked in hospital and other healthcare settings for many years and I am honestly in awe at how this place is still running. The instructor was very underprepared and looked very confused on all the material presented in class and ended up reading off the slides or referring to some of the college students in class for reference to ensure he was correct (I personally learned from them better and more than whatever he taught). He ended up under preparing us for the exams and refused to share his slides . The center had no dummies or dummy hands for us to practice on first and basically made us try it on each other with little to no experience. One of the students ended up bleeding a lot because the instructor forgot to remove the tourniquet before removing the needle. The instructor additionally had no clue about the protocols and he never showed us a live demonstration on how to draw blood and made us watch YouTube videos to do so. In fact he would use YouTube videos constantly to explain everything to the point where we spent a whole three hours just watching YouTube videos! The insane part is that the instructor told us to REUSE the needles on each other when the needles were lacking and stuck his fingers into the hubs. For the hefty tuition they charged us there were always a limited amount of butterfly needles and tourniquets available and we would only do at most 30 minutes of clinical training everyday. The books definitely cost less than 300 bucks they charge for too. Lastly, a lot of the students in the class told me how they had originally signed up for something else but the center told them to sign up for this class because it is apparently the same thing when it is not. I would personally think management would know what programs they hold in the center and what they align career wise so they probably did it for the cash grab. I have lost all faith in this office and their career center. Do...
Read moreThis school promises so much stuff that they straight up lie to your face. I went here a few years ago and took the ultrasound course. They stated that they had internships with hospitals and when it came to me getting an internship, he all of a sudden said he didn't have any. Luckily I had recorded the conversation and Dr. Nand who is the Director of the school stated this in the class as well. Many people in our class was upset. Many of the male students had issues getting internships which I questioned from the beginning since I heard this field caters to women more than men. He is a liar and you need to be wary of what he says. I had the school investigated and I was found correct and that he breached his own contract. So I was refunded my $30,000 without much issues. The price of his course, you can go to a REAL CREDITED COLLEGE FOR CHEAPER, and actually get something. The staff at the time was lazy and even made students fight each other as well as didn't teach well. This is in the queens location by the way. The city location had an awesome physics teacher but unfortunately I was in the Queens location. Beware of this place and RECORD AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING. THE Director of the school will get you to join programs just to steal your precious money and then not follow thru. I wasted 1 year of my time and have nothing to show for it. Don't make the same mistake. I was a 90 average student and I was the first in the program for the queens location. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. LISTEN TO THE BAS REVIEWS, THOSE ARE TRUE. The highly expressed reviews are fake because he would tell the students to give a great review then he would reward us with discounts and food. Yeah, BEWARE. HEED MY WARNING. THIS SCHOOL GETS INVESTIGATED OFTEN, THERE IS A...
Read moreI took the Phlebotomy course which was combined with the EKG students. Overall, the learning experience wasn't bad but they make it seem as if you need the textbooks while taking the class which you don't. The whole entire class was based off of notes given by Dr.Philips and he only referred to the textbooks to show us pictures which you can find through google. They also hassle you for payments to be made before the course is completed even though you have up until the last day of classes to complete your payments. They also hassle you to wear uniforms of a specific color so that they can "determine which class you are in" and if you walk into the suite without it they question you for your uniform. They sell these uniforms behind the front desk which isn't necessary, it's honestly just another way for them to steal your money. I never bought the uniform, I just wore clothes that I already had which was close to the color. Also, the bathrooms are gross. There's only two stalls and one of the stalls don't give you very much privacy because there's a gap in between the door and wall. There's also never any tissue inside of the bathroom to dry your hands and the hand dryers don't work. They're very unorganized and switched times and dates for the class schedule by the week. The lab isn't very up to date and the dummy is overused. While practicing phlebotomy on the dummy no one actually found a vein on their own, we were all guided through a hole in the arm until we poked the vein. The only positive thing about this place is that I was able to get...
