Where do I begin? Let me get straight to the point. I went to the restaurant with my three year old son. I placed my order immediately and it took an hour and a half for my order to come to the table. I only ordered one item which was hog breakfast. After one hour, my son noticed everyone’s food coming out, smelling great and started to be a little agitated. I comforted him with his tablet while patiently waiting. And half an hour later, my waiter brought me one pancake and stated that the rest will come out five minutes later the rest of the order come out. I was able to sit and enjoy my food for 15 tops before a young lady came over and started to remove the items off my table as I was eating. I was a little upset and I told her I was not done and she told me well if you’re not done I’ll leave it, but I felt a little agitated due to the fact of me waiting for over an hour and a half to eat and you’re moving items off the table as I am eating. She took my syrup and stated “it was only a little syrup in there,Syrup is free.I could just get you another one”. I did not like her energy at all so I said I could just get my bill to which she stated another couple paid your tab. I was confused as to who paid my tab, but the waitress walked away quickly with an attitude to get me my bill. I turned to a couple next to me and asked them if they paid my bill to which they responded. Yes and they enjoyed seeing me with my son have breakfast. I had a small conversation with that couple and explain to them that the wait time considering that I was sitting before them and three other people were seated after me were eating their food. It had my son a little bit whiny. I told a couple thank you they said no problem and left the restaurant. I began to prepare myself to leave placing my cash tip on the table and the hostess told me that I had to pay my tab because I did not take the offer from the couple which I knew that they paid for me already. I did not argue. I immediately paid my bill with my Apple Pay and the hostess refused to allow me to complete my transaction on the Apple Pay device. I told the hostess I don’t get why you’re going back-and-forth with me when I’m trying to complete the transaction on the device to which the hostess replied “I don’t get it either “ with an attitude. That’s just the hospitality of this restaurant. Let me get into the food pancakes taste like flour and water. The bacon was great. The sausage was good. The eggs was good. Nothing that makes me feel like I have to go back to get that taste or that feeling. At this point in my life it’s ambience of the location that I’m having brunch at but you have ok tasting and food and nasty hospitality. How long was this restaurant open? It could not have been open before the pandemic because it would’ve never...
Read moreI hate do this because ive worked in restaurants and understand how challenging it can be to own/operate one and i usually never take the time out to give a bad review BUT i have to say this place was literally terrible. I got a bloody mary that was god awful, thick full of pepper and God knows what else, my gf got an espresso martini that was not bad, not great but not terrible. The bartender drops the drinks, i have no straw, i ask for one he says o we’re out, we’ve been out of straws for over an hour now. Like yo SOMEBODY GO GET A BOX FROM KEY FOOD ACROSS THE STREET. It was not busy mind you. Then i ordered the hen house breakfast. It was 2 burnt to hell chicken thighs that i could not even cut through w my knife it was so tough and honestly inedible, the pancake was garbage, my gf got the chicken biscuit thing, had no taste, same for my dish. Neither of us finished even half our dishes. And we were really hungry we hadnt eaten all day at 3pm. Then she got their dirty martini w the oyster in it. It was disgusting and we both love dirty martinis. She took a sip, i took a sip, couldnt drink it. They didnt ask o hey hows your drink you want something else? Nope. They just took our half eaten dishes and full glass and charged us $100 plus tax and tip. They all seemed arrogant and like they did NOT want to be there, like they all had better things to do. But yea, place sucks. We only went there cause we were in the neighborhood and the menu looked good. We should have read the reviews first. The 1 and 2 stars AINT LYIN! And the crazy thing is as i read them i see them answering back and like apologizing for the same thing over and over again(bad food/service) youd think they get it by now but to each their own. Its in need of a complete overhaul if they want to survive in this market, brunch competition is...
Read moreedited rating to reflect the business response, truly wanted to like this place but in every way they disappointed.. right now to their response of criticism. an unexpected soggy salad is still a soggy salad that also made my toast soggy…
TLDR; it looks better than it is, trust me.
First, it was so hot and loud upon entering so we were immediately not loving the vibe. We came for sunday brunch and expected a more chill vibe but instead it was hot and blaring rock music - felt more like friday afternoon music and volume.
service: the guy who sat us turned away and then immediately came back to ask for a drink order, we had barely even sat down so how could we have looked at the menu. my partner ordered a cold brew then since he knew he wanted coffee but then the guy didn’t bring it for at least 10 minutes. Why the rush to ask for a drink order to not even bring it? overall the service was just really lacking — missing that southern hospitality i’d expect from a place boasting that they’re southern.
I was hopeful that the food would make things better but it was beyond disappointing, which shouldn’t have been surprising as i grew up in the south and southern food outside of the south is rarely ever good. We even ordered fairly basic and still it just wasn’t good.
shoreline plate: order fried eggs and got over easy, hash brown was pure grease, bacon was fine, and lastly the pancake was tough and leathery — i’ve never had a leathery pancake before but that’s the best description. It was hard to cut even with a knife and lacked flavor.
pimento cheese toast: i was excited for this and it was fine but the toast was served over a wet wilted salad so the bottom of the toast was soggy. not what i...
