We signed up for the cake decorating class and it was so fun and delicious, definitely worth it! We assembled and decorated 4” cakes.
The class was two hours and included all tools and ingredients. Amber provided some iced jasmine tea during the class and even gave us some extra pastries to take home.
After we signed up for the class, Amber asked us what filling we wanted. We chose mango passion fruit and hojicha pear, but chocolate brûlée and vanilla strawberry were also available. She also asked if we had any cake decorating inspo pics.
When we arrived, the chiffon cakes and fillings were already prepared. We cut the cake into three layers, assembled the cake layers and filling, and did a crumb coat with whipped cream.
We both did whipped cream for the outside frosting but I think butter cream was also available! There were all sorts of food dyes and frosting tips available, so we had a lot of artistic freedom.
Amber was soooo nice and helpful!! She was a great teacher and made the cake decorating so fun and approachable 🥰
Once we finished she packaged the cakes really nicely in boxes that made it easy to take the cakes home.
The cake class was great but omg the actual cakes were even better. I grew up eating Chinese-style fruit cream cakes so I’m very familiar with this style of chiffon cakes with whipped cream and fruit…trust me when I saw the Studio Multisweet cakes are excellent.
The chiffon cake was extremely light but still moist and the filling was perfectly not too sweet.
I will definitely be back to try their...
Read moreThe taro puffs ($4) are crispy and flaky on the outside and completely filled with taro. The ratio of pastry to filling was spot on. I'd say they're a little bit larger than an extra large egg. They're kept warm and cozy in a heated display so they're the perfect slightly sweet walk-home treat as the weather starts cooling down.
The Earl Grey Pudding I could have skipped. Thought I liked Earl Grey but this made me consider. It had considerable bitterness (perhaps from over steeping?) and the texture was more akin to a jelly than a creamy pudding or panna cotta (which maybe I incorrectly expected).
They have WiFi!
The covered outdoor area is charming. I'm looking forward to enjoying a slice of cake there and reading...
Read moreI ordered a six inch birthday cake for my friend few days prior to the pick up day. I heard good things about their cakes and was willing to pay $90+ for the cake. But when I picked it up and shared with friends, my friend asked me if it’s an ice cream cake (it’s a sponge cake). I tasted it and cannot even cut it though. It is frozen entirely even after picking it up 3 hours. The cake should be airy in and light. It’s nothing like that. I was so disappointed. I contacted them before posting this but got no response. I would not recommend this place and would never come back again. I told all my friends to avoid this place as well. It ruined my gift for my friend and my friend’s...
