Focal Point Beer Co — Restaurant in New York

One of my favorite dog-friendly breweries in LIC. It has a HUGE outdoor space - part of it belongs to the brewery (everything behind the gate) and part of it is public space. There are a bunch of picnic tables to sit at (provided by the brewery) and various public seating areas and benches to lounge in. At the time of this review (8/31/21), there’s large construction fencing planks blocking off half of the sidewalk area for construction of the new indoor space that the brewery will be taking over directly adjacent to its current location. They periodically have a 3rd party food vendor right out front that sells pizzas, tacos, etc. and there are 2 new empty retail stores that were recently constructed but have yet to be filled. Fingers crossed for some brick-and-mortar spaces for food! The beer selection is top notch (with new beers introduced at times) and they have various sizes to choose from (they also sell cans and growlers to-go). Perfect spot to come for a mini date night. Sitting outside on a warm/ cool summer night with a beautiful breeze. The sky is amazing over here at sundown. My favorite drink to have is the berry one. I forget the full name of the beer but it's a sour flavor. I'm not a big drinker but my go is that beer. They recently got some new beers they have an 8%. This place is also great because there's a Mexican spot next door that you can order some food.

I love that there's outlets inside the location. There's also a bathroom on site. I don't recommend going here after 9pm because the area gets a little sus at night. But overall never had a bad night here. So far I've been here twice and loved the environment and energy.  You can also bring your dog.

This was our favorite place for sometime in LIC, until it degraded completely like most businesses who end up relying on popularity alone. The beer is way too expensive for the actual quality and taste. The girl that took our initial order was rude as can be, probably taking out a bad or busy day on us. To top it off, basic manners and civility are NOT enforced in the slightest. Here is a picture of the latest trashy behavior we endured right next t our table; a group of people changing poopy diapers when we were having a meal with our brew, which is utterly disgusting. Not to mention we feel sorry for whomever eats at that table afterwards.
