Sushi Spot—78 Street — Restaurant in New York

Shocked by my experience with all the amazing reviews, but honestly what a horrible experience. DO NOT COME HERE!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. WILL LIE ABOUT ETA.

Placed an order at the window and while everyone on here says they are quick (10-15 min), I was given a 30 min wait time. I came back 20 minutes later to the front desk guy nervously processing orders and payments and taking a ridiculously long time. When it comes my turn to pick up my order, they have not even made it and told me it would be another 20-25 min. For a hole in the wall known for speed this is ridiculous. I was the only person at the restaurant and they would not even rushed my order. Did not go grab.

These people are unprofessional and will shamelessly waste your time....

Good sushi at a very good price. There appears to be inconsistencies in how the sushi is assembled. The proportions of rice to protein fluctuate as tge day goes on. I am attributing this to running out of rice.

Be aware that this is a busy place, that makes fresh sushi combos and dishes to order. The seating is seriously non-existent, so I recommend picking your order up for consumption elsewhere.

For the price, you cannot go wrong. I've been getting sushi here regularly and have never been truly disappointed.

at first, I was skeptical: who wouldn't be after hearing you can get 3 rolls for $9.50?. I heard about Sashimi Express when I took a piece of my friends sushi off and thought it was from Gari. To my surprise, he said it was from a small place down the street from Gari that only serves sushi. I always hesitate when ordering sushi; especially when I craving it (I am a sushi snob). When I found this found this place, I almost didn't want to share how excellent the quality of the salmon, how fresh the shrimp was, but the quality of service was just that good, the people who work there are so friendly, It's only been open for three months so get here before it becomes NY...
