Itzocan Tattoos — Local services in New York

I found out about Itzocan Tattoos from my coworker. I love the work he had done and he showed me Luis tattoo instagram account. I contacted Luis he asked me what for details of what I want, photo of placement, how big and then he sent me the sketch of how it will look on my wrist. I loved the design but when I went there we decided changed the size,placement and colors so it will fit my wrist perfectly. He explains everything and listens to what u want, shows u how it looks, and gives u more ideas on how to make it better. I told him I haven’t had tattoo done in 20 years so I’m a little nervous. Everything has changed from how they used to do it back then. He started with the lines to make sure I can handle it. It wasn’t painful he has a gentle hand. We changed up the tattoo design again and made 2 butterflies bigger, put the stencil on it looked incredible . He is a perfectionist and will make the tattoo’s perfect for u. I showed him my tattoo from 20 years ago from a different artist it faded badly and he already knows how to fix it I told him he can go bigger and put colors I 100% trust him. I just got this piece done today with Luis. We had a good initial consult, he shared concept art with me within a week, and I booked his earliest opening after we made some minor adjustments.

He worked with me the entire time to explain any changes he wanted to make, made some good suggestions overall, and in the end respected my boundaries and requirements I had for the piece.

Luis even went the extra mile and explained why he was choosing certain shades, or how certain techniques adjusted the color, shading, texture etc of the piece. He puts a lot of effort into his work, and is meticulous about every detail down to the cleanliness of his tools, and small shading or details within the piece that most artists would simply overlook.

The vibe inside of the shop he runs is also very chill, low stress and accommodating. The other artists I've met have been friendly and helpful, even being willing to answer questions from customers who aren't their own. I went and got my tattoo two weeks ago with Luis. I heard from this parlor from my two cousins who have been going to Luis for a their last few tattoos. Both of them had a very high opinion of Luis. I found his Instagram and emailed him and Luis responded very fast. Then everything went very smooth. I went to the parlor and we talked for 30 minutes discussing what I would like. And by god Luis delivered, that sketch he came up with was amazing and so well done. Another thing I appreciate is that he allowed my friend to accompany me and getting the tattoo. He does not rush you once you are there, is dedicates his time for you, and he even let me take a 10 minute break to eat my lunch with my friend.
