Came here around 5:30 on a Friday night. Asked about happy hour and what was included, they said there was no menu and after the bartender and server conversed we were told only beers($5) and certain liquors ($9) the only food available was guacamole for $10. We ended up ordering beer and appetizers while waiting for friend (he got stuck with work and came about 20minutes late) We only had 4 people (can check cameras if don’t believe all the other tables were only parties of 2, we were the only party of 4) and had automatic gratuities added to the check, was told either cash or Zelle & when I asked about happy hour beer pricing after we got the check, I was told it was only available for the first round(was never informed) Beef carpaccio was good, came with a little salad in the middle, only issue is that it also came with a piece of clear plastic wrap Steaks were bland, was told because it came on the salt piece they don’t add additional salt/flavoring..but then comes the question. Is the salt piece washed or cleaned in between guests? Each piece had to be purposefully rubbed/smeared on the salt piece to get any flavoring… the tomahawk was 30% fat pieces and overcooked. Asked it to be medium rare (more on the rare side because lots of reviews said overcooked) The pesto pappardella was bland; tasted like they only used the paste and no additional salt or flavorings. Steaks took about 20-35minutes to come, after appetizers were cleared, we saw the table next to us get their steak; finish it, pay and leave and we were still waiting… Servers were very good at clearing the table of food and drinks, even if there’s stuff left in or on the plates and cups. My beer had a good inch left inside and it was removed, the potato croquettes had one left (out of 5?6?) and we were asked if we still wanted it…don’t know why he was rushing to clear the table when the steaks and food didn’t arrive for another 20-35min. Water was not refilled until asked & the “large lemonade” was just a regular cup with lemons squeezed inside, friend said there was no sugar added (for $7 dollars?!)

This restaurant offers amazing service, delicious food, and a cool ambiance. My experience there was outstanding. The customer service, led by owner Roger and waiter Rowin, was incredible. They both went above and beyond to make my dining experience unforgettable. The food was spectacular, with everything being fresh and high-quality. I highly recommend the carpaccio appetizer, the unique Weirdo quesadilla with its steak and cheese mix, and the perfectly cooked ribeye served on a Himalayan salt block. Their signature burger is a must-try, especially with added bacon. The restaurant also offers a great selection of drinks. I particularly enjoyed the Passion Fruit Margarita. The atmosphere at The King of Meat is unique and chill, with excellent vibes and music that allow for conversation. To complete your experience, don't miss trying the Coconut Homemade Flan from their sister restaurant, The King of Fish. It's absolutely divine! Also, if you visit after 10:30 pm on weekends, make sure to check out "The Jail" downstairs, a trendy speakeasy lounge with a live DJ. Overall, I highly recommend The King of Meat. It truly impressed me in every aspect!

I recently celebrated my birthday at King of Meats and it was an experience I’ll never forget! This place has hands down the best tacos in all of New York— the flavor, freshness, and presentation are unmatched. And if you’re a steak lover, prepare to be blown away. The steaks are cooked to ABSOLUTE perfection! The owner, Roger, is incredibly hospitable and made sure everything ran smoothly for my event. His attention to detail and warm personality made us feel like royalty. The waiter Rowen was so friendly and attentive, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. But wait, the real hidden gem is the speakeasy downstairs, which is out of this world! It’s the perfect spot for parties or a unique night out. The ambiance, design, and overall vibe are unbeatable. My guests were raving about it all night! If you’re looking for amazing food, top-notch service, and a space that’s ideal for both intimate dinners and special events, King of Meats is the place to go. Don’t walk—run to this incredible spot. You won’t regret it!!! Trust me on this one guys…

To begin, the staff was great, kind and friendly. The issue is the food quality & the speed in which the food was served. Our group of 5 arrived a few minutes after opening and had ordered 3 of their "unlimited steaks", 2 quesadillas (one steak and one mushroom), 2 mojitos and 3 aqua de Jamaica. The agua de Jamaica was absolutely terrible. It wasn't sweet at all, this restaurant is located in a strip known for their Mexican food & treats, yet it was absolutely awful. 1 mojito was sweetened well, while the other mojito was absolutely bitter. The quesadilla was such a huge disappointment, it was the size of a regular corn tortilla, drizzled with a bunch of nonsense on top. The steak quesadilla had pieces of steak that were dry, yet also looked to be medium rare.

The steaks lacked consistency, they need a new cook/chef immediately. Our group first ordered all medium well steaks. Every single steak arrived burnt, cold and rare. No problem, it's "unlimited" let's try again. They ordered again, this time well done. It took over 30+minutes for the steaks to arrive. They also aren't thick, no more than half an inch. These "well done steaks" arrived medium well, what we originally wanted, great. Except the portions are so small you finish in 1-2 minutes. So you order again, and wait an additional 30+ minutes to receive your next steaks. The next steaks that arrive are just burnt, and incredibly dry, some look medium well, some look rare and some well done. The fries that came along with it also took a long time to arrive.

Since we arrived early, there were hardly any customers, so the kitchen was definitely not busy, we were the only customers requesting food (the steaks & fries) for the first 2 hours (with the occasional customer). It took 3.5 hours to receive a total of 4 half inch thick steaks for 1 person.

Finally, since these steaks are served on slabs of salt, how sanitary is that? How does something like that get washed? All other items were served on molcajetes, if you know about these items then you know they have to be well seasoned so you don't get any of the grit/dust into your food. They were not. They had huge gapping holes in every platter and sauce. Which is also, very unsanitary. There was also no consistency in the volume of the music, sometimes it was loud and sometimes it was very low, it was very noticable.

If you're thinking about coming here, just go to the bar, the food is terrible. I don't see this restaurant lasting...

Had really high hopes for this place as the other reviews are amazing. Did not meet expectations at all. We started with the melted cheese and steak dip and gauc which were very mid. We ordered the ribeye tacos and the ribeye quesadillas and felt like we were just eating cheese. The food was cold, the cheese wasn’t even melted all the way in the quesadillas and there was barely any meat in both the tacos and quesadillas. We waited for almost two hours just for our food. There was a large party in there before us which is understandable why the food took long but for it to be served cold is ridiculous. Also when we got there the air conditioning was not working which made it very uncomfortable to be in there but we stuck it out because we really wanted to try this restaurant. The waitress and bartender were AMAZING, very attentive and nice. The waitress brought us a free round of drinks and some extra chips for the wait. Would love to give this place another chance to try out their steaks which did look and smell very good. The reason we did not order steak was because we didn’t want to wait to long but ended up waiting very long anyways. Maybe we just went on a bad day. Also the place isn’t cheap, which is also okay because of the cuts of meat they are using, but I feel the tacos and quesadillas were definitely overpriced for the way they were...
