It's a new restaurant. Not sure how long it's been opened. This took place; I ordered a glass of prosecco but they don't offer sparkling wine. I noticed it's a different kind of restaurant. I said with surprising tone and kind of happy, "Oh, hey, this is a new restaurant." Bartender just starred and seemed like he nodded. I was like...crap, maybe I shouldn't ask anymore information about this place. Since, he was not offering any verbal response. Not very welcoming bartender and the cleaning guy took. I ordered an Oaxaca Old Fashion, it is delicious in spite I am not a mezcal drinker. Very pricy drinks all around it's menu selection. The ambiance is great here peeps, sadly with personalities such as bartenders like this would make it difficult for a Hispanic restaurants to survive even expensive neighborhoods. I'm Charlie Franco, I explore new places and write about its beauty and attraction. I write anything and everything I hear and see from staff, customers and everything in between.
D'oh, they just turned away a couple who might wanted to drink. The bartender just said, "Sorry, we're close." But I am here. Hmm. Thanks for letting me in, and, you could have made the restaurant and yourself some...
Read moreThe space and service are fantastic, the drinks are average, but the food is a misfire. Both of my taco dishes were laden with cooking oil (I presume canola, which is thankfully quite neutral) and a dearth of flavor. The vegetable tacos - though billed as grilled - tasted more like were quickly stir-fried with a heaping dose of salt and MSG.
The “El Pastor” (sic) tacos were charitably average. The cook on the meat was good, but al pastor should have a depth and complexity of flavor… and it just wasn’t there. Al pastor should assault every taste bud in your mouth with a combination of salt, sweet, heat, fat, and acid that few dishes can rival. But this felt more like a quickly assembled pork dish from Chipotle, with piece of crudely charred pineapple slapped on at the end, in a feeble attempt to imitate a true al pastor dish.
I hate to say it, but: Even I, with some limited classical training in Mexican cuisine and a residential kitchen, can produce better tacos than this.
That said, I did enjoy the cocktails. They are a tad sweet for my taste, but the mixologist is trying and has...
Read moreI reached out to Taqueria On Tenth for a company happy hour event. With the amount of participants, we had to buy out the restaurant. I coordinated with Jessica, who was nothing, but amazing. She helped us find choices within our budget and helped curate a great night for myself and co-workers.
The food was delicious, 10/10 and the drinks were even better, lol. The staff was very attentive and made sure everyone was taken care of. The food came out just as quickly as it left and there was no hold up at the bar. I like that there were options for all dietary restrictions available.
There was plenty of seating, however since we all had just come from the office, we tossed our bags and coats on the seats and utilized the standing room. Either way, it was a plus.
If you have a large party, book with Jessica. If your have a small party, GO! The drinks and food are good enough to come back on a solo date honestly. If I didn't work remotely from Atlanta, I'd be there more often than once a year, lol. The service was so great, we're hosting our next happy hour...
