Terremoto Coffee — Restaurant in New York

Just came here because of the good reviews. The barista was so rude and off putting and dismissive when I asked questions about the menu drinks and their descriptions, I’m so sorry I didn’t know that the space oddity was just a rose latte. Then my coffee cup was placed on the counter which I think is a bit gross, I won’t come here again. I’d rather go to a chain where at least I’m treated like a human. I’ve worked early morning jobs as well, if you aren’t a morning person don’t work mornings :/

What’s more annoying is after the business reviewed they felt they did their job spitting out a crappy apology and then overly wanted to defend their barista placing the coffee down and making that the bulk of their response. Even tho they claim their counter is clean I wouldn’t have said that if I felt it was, more so standing right there in front of their barista it would have been more polite to just hand it to me, you know the CUP TOP , not the coffee cup itself, why they don’t have a top holder like everyone else is beyond me… can’t honestly believe thats sanitary…but then again from the second I stepped in he was overly dismissive so why should I have ever had the expectation he would have given me decent service or the owner would even care is beyond me, even after I tipped. This is my favorite coffee shop in New York. It's a no frills shop with some indoor chairs and tables and some cool benches out front under an awning(perfect place to drink your brew on a chilly morning and watch the world go by). The location is great, it's on a nice tree lined street in the super cool Manhattan neighborhood of Chelsea; among it's neighbors are The Chelsea Market, The Highline, and Google Headquarters, how cool is that? I'm by no means a coffee aficionado, but I know good coffee when I taste it, and this coffee is just....better. I've heard their baristas talk with customers about their process and their passion, I just know when I drink my oat milk flat white here, it's so much better than others I've had. Staff did not greet us and was wearing AirPods as he was taking my order. I specifically asked for hot Space Oddity drink but he made it cold. My friend kindly asked if she could take the drink that was wrongly made since no one was going to have it and assuming their error, would compensate by giving it for free, the barista rudely said “Will you pay for it??” and proceeded to throw it in the trash. I understand if it might be policy, but the way he just responded with an aggressive attitude caught us off guard. I also believe he just remade a normal hot coffee after because there was no hint of rose sirup whatsoever, which was disappointing.
