I feel really awkward about posting this because I really like the food and coffee here and up until now have had a really positive experience at this bakery. But today something unacceptable happened and I really canât bite my tongue because it was nothing short of extremely uncomfortable. I ordered an iced vanilla latte at the counter and a girl made my coffee about three minutes later. The store was really busy so when she placed my order on the counter and it was a hot drink, even though it was correct in the lineup of who ordered, I was hesitant to grab it thinking maybe it was someone elseâs. After a few more minutes it became obvious that that was my order, and it was incorrect and not what I ordered. As a shy and non-confrontational person, it took me a while to gather my words and walk up to the coffee bar to address the issue. I quietly leaned in and had told her that I believed that was my coffee, but that it was supposed to be iced. I am a lot of things, but I know for certain I am not rude and Iâm a very polite person. I worked as a hostess in a restaurant growing up, so I always make sure to be extremely kind with any issues when it comes to restaurants. I even tipped at the counter before my coffee was made. This girl who made my coffee looked at me with a sarcastic smile and said âI didnât hear ice. There was no iceâ to which I didnât really know what to say and replied back âoh no? Okay.â I felt extremely awkward even though I know I ordered the same coffee I order everyday correctly, so I was going to just take the hot coffee and leave, but she said âgive me a second to get it.â She also placed the incorrect coffee on the coffee bar and yelled out âanyone want a free latte? Take itâ again in a really sarcastic way. I waited another 5 minutes and for her to make a few other orders. I was not sure if she was going to make it at all because I could tell she was angry. When she finally put my coffee down she said âthatâs for youâ without looking at me. I grabbed it and walked over to my stuff really uncomfortably because I felt like I wasnât welcome in the store anymore. Again, I know I didnât mess up my coffee order, but thatâs water under the bridge. Iâm a good customer and a kind and patient person and I really donât like being treated like a jerk at restaurants (the once in a blue moon that happens) because I am not a jerk. I hope this company does better because the food is good and the atmosphere is nice, but this type of service is really unsettling and...
Read moreExceptional. I had the pleasure of trying several of their baked goods and you canât go wrong. I would easily order the first three below again. The fourth is not my preference as much but it may be yours once you read below!
Sesame ginger cookie is exquisite. Everything I did not know I needed in a cookie. I donât want a chocolate chip cookie after this one. Itâs sweet nutty buttery and more. Must get.
Yuzu poppyseed monkey bread - insane. Another exquisite baked good. The yuzu gives a bright note while the poppyseed helps to balance it out. The dough is so fluffy and airy and it feels like a pillow in your mouth. So lovely.
Currant and pistachio brown butter cake- this petite cake is gorgeous for starters. It also surprised me the most. I wasnât sure what to expect with the texture inside because could be dry and the flavor. It was surprisingly moist and tender. The flavor was also again so well balanced. Everything from Greywind - every dish and pastry I have tried is so extremely well balanced with flavor and textures and thoughtful.
Apple and polenta muffin. I wasnât expecting much from this because it felt heavy and dense and looked underwhelming in the sense of ânothing newâ/ looked like a mini apple pie of some sort. However make no mistake this is like an apple pie crumble in the form of a cronut. The top half is very moist and filled while the bottom half serves as the hearty base. This was my least favorite of the four personally because I am an adventurous eater. However if you donât like to experiment with your food and stick with basics this might be the...
I recently visited Greywind Bakery and was genuinely blown away by the quality, creativity, and kindness this place radiates.
I ordered the almond milk latte with extra chocolate tahini sauceâand wow, it was next-level delicious. Rich, nutty, slightly sweet, and incredibly comforting. I also indulged in their dark chocolate tahini brownie, which was decadent and perfectly balanced, not too sweet, with that deep, satisfying cocoa flavor.
The salmon salad was fresh and flavorful; I would love to see it with a few more additions like eggs or avocado to make it even heartier. The goat cheese spinach bun was flaky, buttery, and packed with savory goodness.
The cold brew was smooth and refreshingâa solid pick for any coffee lover.
And to top it all off, they surprised me with a complimentary croissantâa warm, flaky gesture that made my day. đ„đ The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming throughout.
Highly recommend...
