The food I ordered was horrible! I ordered a veggie dish, carrot hummus with what was suppose to be a grilled cauliflower steak?! I couldn’t cut it with a knife!! Red cabbage slaw, which was gooey, a table spoon portion of jasmine rice, which was missing the jasmine, and cubed tofu squares. All these were not fresh, they were at least 2-3 days old and had absolutely no taste. Plus when the server brought the plate I asked about the tofu squares, because they were extra, and he had to bring the plate back to the kitchen to add them! No courtesy, no service what so ever. The bill was $22,81 for a plate of what they are calling vegetarian food. More like slop that I would not serve a dog! The server never once came to check on me, even after the mistake. I’m too nice, instead I didn’t say anything ate a little of what I could, I was hungry, which were the tofu cubes, they were the only thing that was hot and fresh. Although I wouldn’t qualify tofu to be the star of the dish.

I even tipped the so- called server, 15%, only on principle, I was once a waiter myself, and a darn attentive one I might add! Plus there were like only 5 tables filled. They place was not busy at all.

I do not recommend this place at all. I wouldn’t have bothered writing this. But with everything that we are dealing with as a community, the last thing I want to be taken advantage of is being served really bad food, in our city! Don’t go there unless you want bad food and service and pay thru the nose for all of it….

Really...

Alas, how the mighty have fallen. We have enjoyed Grey Dog plenty in the past, the last time coming in April. We always enjoyed their soups which, although expensive, we thought were filling and delicious.

Unfortunately, Grey Dog Chelsea has really implemented a "shrinkflation" agenda with gusto. They not only raised the prices on their tomato soup, but provided less of it. The soup now comes in a smaller bowl, filled barely 2/3rds of the way. And the parmesan crisp which garnishes the soup was missing. The bread was fine, but had no butter or anything to go with it (which it used to have). I can't imagine the mind of the individual who thought that a cup's worth of soup matched by a piece of untoasted bread cut in two was worth $9.50. However, what soup there was, was delicious as always.

The chicken sandwich was also tasty, but suffered from a similar problem of providing far too little food to justify the $16.50 price point.

Our server was pleasant enough, but did not check on us until we had almost finished our food, giving us no polite opportunity to ask if the kitchen had simply forgotten to add a parmesan crisp or fill the soup up normally.

In summary: good flavor, good environment, but obscene prices even for the neighborhood, which returning customers will recognize is married to...

So, another one of our random finds! We were just here on Mother’s Day snd I need you to not listen to ANY of the poor reviews. First of all, welcoming is an understatement to describe the personality of the staff. They were more than friendly snd spoke to us like we’ve been here 100 times or we were regulars even though it was only our first. The service alone will bring us back.

Only negative...it took a TAD long to get our drinks , longer than usual...but their professionalism and happiness negates this instantly.

Happy hour entails a spiked Arnold Palmer their own way with Prosecco for $5 .....WHY WOULDNT YOU??. Absolutely delicious and definitely one of their staples. Another seem to be staple is what I (among many nearby patrons) ordered...the grey dog club. If you’re a sandwich person...order it. The bread was fresh, and the quality of the food is definitely above the mark. Everything was succulent and flavorful. My other half had the spinach salad which she thoroughly enjoyed, along with an order of sweet potato fries...

Let me just take a second here to tell you that we not only ordered another Palmer, but we got an extra order of sweet potato fries after our meal. THATS how good they were.

Definitely a nice little gem in Chelsea. Great date spot or casual...
