I've been in and out of this neighborhood plenty of times , sheesh I even worked at the local PCT and never saw this place. Had it not been for a buddy of mine It would still go unnoticed. It sits nearest the last last house on St. marks corner of Utica Ave in BKLYN. There is nothing pretty nor inviting about the outer appearance and sadly to say the same for the inside. The place is very small and the immediate seating area upon entering is usually cluttered with closed together chairs and papers on the tables. Judging from my statement as to usually tells you I have been here more than twice. After you enter if you look to the right there is a cut out about the size of a nook. It holds about 4 small tables and chairs, the mini bar is too the left of the entrance. The place is very untidy. I was a bit scared to eat here at first but my friend has been sick so... I was taken back when I saw the small kitchen. Unbelievably it held 3 employees. Had it not been the size difference of them all small med and large they would not have fit... LOL sounds funny but I am serious! The kitchen is not well kept but the board of health has not been here yet I guess since the openings. I don't see a NYC rating either. 🤔 Hmm. Oh well on to the food The first time I had a delicious fish soup nice and pepper like I like my food. If you like hot 🔥 here it is In This lil hole "The wall"🧱 Try it is all I have to say make sure you get the right fufu. I came back with my best friend who is from Nigeria because he didn't believe my taste buds until he tried it himself. I treated him to Seafood okra. You would think he hadn't eaten for years the way he gulped it down and looking into my plate. I admit it was good. But I don't thinthey serve this often . At the cost of $25 it was overpriced but delicious. The last time I went back I was sadly disappointed. I was hoping the rubbish I saw at the door and the untidy area would be cleaned up but I will have to at this just how they keep it. Very sad. Although I enjoyed the food I will not return because the surrounding makes a difference as to what goes into your food. If the kitchen is messy and it is then the food is not at its best even if it tastes good. Sorry guys. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness." All eateries should come from a clean...

The food is trash do not waste your time coming here, I rather eat chicken wings and french fries then to come back to this place. Out of all the Nigerian restaurants I've been to this one is the worst. They need to step their game up there's no quality about this place. Not sure how to getting away with it. 1 We threw away $114 in this dumppp. We asked for spinach with egusi not egusi soup that's how we explained it to the girl . This is something we usually order when we go to Accra Express. The girl reassured us that afang or however they spell it was similar to what we wanted. Again we told her that it's not a soup so please don't give us soup. Well it went in one ear and out the other because when we got our food it was exactly what we didn't want. My man decided on it since it was something different we are West Indians so this is something that will never be in our kitchen. Everything we ordered was tasteless and spicy. We will not...

I have taken time to order several times from this Restaurant and I'm impressed with the taste of their food. I am not particularly fascinated with the Banga soup but I absolutely love the Stew (Goat meat and mixed meat)-There's this smoky taste to them that I love. The Ayamate stew was as hot as hell & my kids could not partake in it. Even as a Yoruba, I found it really hot (as a heads up if you're ordering). The Oha soup and vegetable soup are also good not exceptional. The Jollof rice was good (won't say great) as that's an area I'm quite good at and I've found only few who do better than me in that. I absolutely love the Moi moi, it was tasty. Overall, I'd give a 4 star as I believe they can be better with food presentation and the waiting time. All my orders have been online but I hope to visit in person soon and will update if...

Not enough people talk about how GOOD West African food is! Here’s one of Crown Heights’ hidden gems serving straight-up FIRE Nigerian food. 🇳🇬✨ 📍 Wakky’s African Restaurant 1174 St Marks Ave, Brooklyn, NY (Crown Heights) From the fiery Egusi Soup paired with Pounded Yam to the flavorful Jollof Rice and the hearty Seafood Okro Soup, every dish is a celebration of traditional African cuisine. This is the kind of food that sticks to your bones, hits your heart, and tastes like home — even if you're tasting it for the first time. Whether you're a Naija food lover or just stepping into West African cuisine, Wakky’s is THAT place. Authentic, unapologetic, and always delicious. #AuthenticAfricanCuisine #Nigeria #Africa #NigerianFoodNYC #AfricanFoodie #EgusiSoup #JollofRice #FufuChallenge #WestAfricanEats #BrooklynEats #NYCFoodie #HiddenGemsNYC #SpicyFoodLovers #ComfortFoodGoals #BlackOwnedRestaurants #EatAuthentic #GlobalFlavors #FoodieReels #SoulOnAPlate #FlavorExplosion #NYCFoodVlog #EatingNYC #NYCFoodieFinds #TastesOfNYC #nycfoodie #tiktokeats
