West Bank Gourmet Deli in Battery Park — Restaurant in New York

I live nearby and actually, I used to live in the same building years ago. This is why I feel so strongly about saying that the service is NUMBER ONE. I do not expect special treatment, in fact it’s hard for me to accept it because than that expectation is always there. So trust that everyone receives the same energy and treatment when they walk in. Tracey, Victor, David and John (the names I know!) have been like family to me the past months. The everyday order is always met with the same quality ingredients and execution.

My favs are the meatloaf and homemade (real!) mashed potatoes; morning oatmeal, meatballs and the BEC tastes exactly like New York every time. They also sell these hand poured soy candles that smell so clean and fresh!

With so many places closing down and the city changing it is SO REFRESHING to have WBD. They aren’t trying to be something they’re not. They are not trying to sell a million kinds of avocado toast, although you could order that... It’s simply real food, good food, done well and kept fresh. New York go-to’s traditionally made. Friendly service for everyone, even during rush hour. They give eye contact and a thank-you before bustling off to the next order. That’s what you expect in NYC - and is always delivered when I call or stop by.

Please support NYC business and small business!! As we slowly reopen we get to decide what stays and what goes! This is the type of representation our city needs...

The gentleman and the lady behind the counter are always so warm, friendly, and welcoming. It makes such a difference to be greeted with genuine kindness every time you walk in.

Their coffee is absolutely fantastic, rich, smooth, and honestly better than most of the big-name high street brands.

The food is just as impressive. Portions are generous, everything is fresh, and the prices are fair. Whether you’re grabbing breakfast, lunch, or just a quick snack, you get great value and consistently good taste.

Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the neighborhood. This place feels like a true local favorite...

Multiple times I have ordered from here around 9/9:30 at night and they never fill the order and then close at 11pm ignoring the order they got an hour or more before they closed. Meanwhile I have to argue with seamless and demand a refund and then it’s also too late to order from anywhere else. If this was a one time thing ok. But they have done this exact thing to me twice now during this lockdown.

Order elsewhere. It’s not worth it. You never know if they are even going to fill your order and even if they do it’s...
