My family and I have been buying pastries at this place for years. The owner is very nice, but the service is horrible. There is no concept of customer service. Every time my family members or I go there, it feels as it’s our first time. Not even because there is no courtesy or any idea how to treat customers. Recently, my daughter forgot her CC at home and she wanted to buy a muffin. She kept trying to pay with an app, but the phone was not working. They saw her struggling, but did not even say, “Is OK, you come here all the time so you can pay when you come back again.” I understand that perhaps they can’t do that but their cold and almost nasty attitude when they are asking what people want is shameful. Some days are worse than others and we go there thinking how the mood is going to be…we don’t have to go there, but we love to support the businesses in our neighborhood. Also, recently, the muffins taste stale and they have messed up the orders. For instance, when I got home, they had given me the wrong sandwich and drink. However, just the thought of going back to deal with their nasty attitude, stops me from going back to complain. Today is it though, we had enough of the attitude, and the lack of customer service. They need training so they can learn how to “fake a...

Yet another Italian restaurant that is lazy and mediocre in their cooking. Usually 7 out of 10 times going here it is good the other 3 it is a complete miss. I have to say I am very exhausted of Italian restaurants (especially ones run by Italians like this place) using heavy cream to dampen the acidity in their tomato based sauces. Unless it says vodka sauce your tomato based sauces should not look pink. This is a sign of laziness to not cook out the acidity of the tomatos and just throw in cream to soften the acidity of the sauce. Their coffee shop on the other end of the block is decent (for pastries but a lot of times their cupcakes are dry and way overpriced) but their espressos are always bitter and sour. Just because you have a create location with no competition you should have some pride in what you offer to the community in your...

Down near Battery Park I have never been able to find anything other than quick sandwich places, However, my tour group leader had made reservations for lunch. It was such a lovely surprise, we were greeted by a friendly staff that welcomed our large group of students and teachers. All the tables were set for our group. They immediately brought out many different kinds of salads to share family style to our group. Delicious and fresh! Then little crusty breads with meat and veggies. Then the pizza! Beautiful crisp crusts and wonderful fresh mozzarella, meats, veggies so many different kinds served on raised trays. For a very jaded pizza person (I have been to Napoli many times so I really know great pizza) it was a pleasant...

Cozy little hidden gem cafe. The signage is quite mininal and blends into the building, so you might miss this spot. But it is amazing! The egg and cheese sandwich tasted fresh, and so did the coffee. I just grabbed my food and went, but the atmosphere looks nice, and I would definitely sit down at this place. As with most places in Manhattan though, it's a bit pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

Good matcha latte but very limited selection of plant based milks. The pastries on display looked very tempting, i have to be back. The ambiance is cute, light and well designed but so many crumbs and dust everywhere, on the tables, on the floor, on the chairs. There were only 2 people besides me so I was surprised the staff could not see that it was time to tidy up a bit.

Dropped in for a tea and the four cheese (quattro formaggi) panini and we were delightfully surprised by how delicious and enjoyable the food was. Perhaps it was the oozy gooey warm cheese after being half frozen on the way back from Liberty Island...either way we'll be back for more.
