Westville Long Island City — Restaurant in New York

I wish I could recommend this place, the location is very nice and the space is very beautiful. Also they have a great concept. However I’ve been here twice now for breakfast and I have to say that the actual quality and flavor is acceptable but kind of rough at the price point.

Unfortunately service is the absolute worst. There were only 3-4 other tables in the restaurant and yet the host, bartender, and some other random staff member simply sat around while a single waiter took orders, cleared plates, grabbed coffee, etc. and even he barely hustled! We sat for almost 10 minutes watching all of these staff play on their phones and chat before asking for beverage orders. Then, same thing, I watched everyone stand around. I had to ask them to go check on our food. Then it came out cold, a clear sign it had been finished for quite a while.

I feel a bit rude having to signal the staff constantly but it’s the only way to order coffee, order food, or apparently receive your food.

So glad to have more American options in the area. There are a number of Westville locations in manhattan but I never got a chance to try it until this location.

They are currently delivery & pickup only through food apps. Talking to staff, they mentioned their seating space will open in mid Jan. We ordered pickup through DoorDash. I arrived earlier than the estimate and the staff offered me some Health tea while I waited (they technically have no seating for pickup right now).

The food is great. Westerville Cobb is so delicious and better than overpriced sweetgreen next door. CBLT was also very good - I added avocado and a beet/walnut veggie side. I really appreciate the healthy and fresh vegetable options.

The prices feel reasonable considering that there’s really no other comparable options in the area.

I can’t wait to go back! The teriyaki salmon was tender and perfectly cooked. They have such delicious side options, and it was hard to choose! I got the sweet potato fries and Brussel sprouts, and it was a perfectly balanced meal. The ambiance in this charming corner location was so lovely! Beautiful windows that let in a lot of light and the restaurant has a homey yet elevated feel. Lukas the manager went above and beyond to ensure I had an unforgettable experience. He was so customer-service oriented, and made sure I had everything I needed. Very personable and it made my experience. I had trouble deciding what to get for dessert and landed on the apple pie.
