Where to Play Squash in New York? A Comprehensive Guide to 16 Top Spots ❣️

I was introduced to Rockrose by Indie - the charming cafe downstairs that has impeccable taste in wine and food. Dropped by the leasing office and was immediately floored away by the amenities - there's a two story gym (with Peloton bikes!), a huge roof top with grills and Manhattan views, laundry and common areas. Other apartment complexes charge tenants for these amenities and with this complex, it was already included with rent. As you can tell, I signed the lease and ended up staying here for two years: I have nothing but fond memories of this place. This was my first official apartment when I moved to NY. It's also where I started my career outside of consulting, fell in love and eventually got married. It was the most perfect place. Firstly, the large apartment complex is kept impeccably clean, which is impressive considering the amount of paw and foot traffic it gets. The staff sweep and mop the floors daily. My dog peed in the lobby once and someone came by seconds later to sanitize the area. The lobby is massive and the air always feel clean and light. Secondly, the stores and cafes around the apartment are incredible. Aside from Indie where I've spent way too many evenings working or sitting with friends, the stores around the area make this a one-stop shop kinda neighborhood. The grocery store downstairs (The Foodcellar) is run by the kindest staff. The manager will go out of his way to help you with items (i.e. checking the back or adding a product to the shelves). They always carry a decent selection of organic produce and pantry staples. I can't recall how many times I've ran downstairs while cooking to pick up something I forgot earlier. There's also a new pharmacy and hardware store across from Rockrose, a few wine shops, a bookstore, breweries, coffee shops, boba shops and restaurants. Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, the maintenance and management for this building is seriously the best. During the pandemic, for example, I left to see my parents for a few months. I came back to a flooded apartment. Turns out there was a tiny leak in the faucet that dripped water over the floors. The leasing manager, Jermaine, was a complete savior: he expedited the cleaning process, oversaw the drying, new floor tiling and painting. It was complete within one week! He answered all of my questions and dealt with my concerns with complete concern and respect. There are numerous other requests throughout the years that were handled with equal class and attention. Once the AC broke down in summer and the maintenance guys exchanged it for a new one the next morning. Someone also came to exchange the batteries on my smoke detector at 11 PM and someone also killed a spider for me at 9 PM. It is safe to say that all of my requests have been handled with speed and attention. This is a place that you can easily stay for a while in NYC. There's a sense of community here that I loved and appreciated. Whether it was talking to Levi about comics, or Michael about 'old New York' or Dennis about dating or a meeting a new dog in the building (so many cute dogs!), when I walked through that building (whether it was 5 am after an overnight hospital shift or 5 PM with the evening rush), it always felt like I was coming home. I'll always be grateful to this place for providing a stress-free, homey place to live that was always kept clean, well-maintained and welcoming.

Gym equipment has been broken for months. In the photo attached, 1/5 treadmills have been broken since the beginning of the year. Row machine screens haven’t worked, inner thigh machine has not worked for a year, and many bikes are broken. For 3/4 of my lease, this was not addressed and we were not given any other alternative, just a false hope that there would be “temporary replacement equipment” which there never was. Now they are shutting down the gym for two weeks to fix it during the last month of my lease, eliminating the most important amenity I pay for. Myself and other residents asked if we could use other Rockrose gyms or if there were any other options and we were not helped. In fact, most of my emails to management have gone ignored.

DO NOT get an apartment in the back of the building. The leasing office conveniently didn’t tell us that starting January 2023 there would be construction 6 days a week (including Saturday) starting at 7am. They claim the windows are “triple paned” but the noise sounds like it is in our bedroom. Neither management nor the leasing office cared enough to help us out. We were told if we wanted to change apartments there would be a $1500 fee. The building being built across the street will also obstruct the view on the roof.

The screening room listed in the amenities doesn’t exist by the way. The laundry room has some machines broken and the card machine doesn’t always work.

Horrible experience & a waste of (a lot of) money

The good thing about this apartment are the doormen. They...

I have lived at LINC for almost 6 years now and honestly it’s by far the best place I have ever resided in. The proximity to transportation and how quickly I can get to the city is amazing. The staff are all incredibly responsive and super nice. They really know how to make me feel at home. The building is well kept and clean which speaks volumes about the building manager and the crew that work here. Although the building is a bit older than most in the area, it has held up pretty well it think. Upgrades to the appliances and cabinetry would be nice to keep up with the newer buildings in the area. Also, like most buildings, the ACs are PTAC units which are nice and powerful…but a little loud. I’d say its probably just an age issue as I can imagine the use over the course of several years, new ones would be great. The gym is fabulous and incredibly spacious, though the equipment is showing it’s age so new stuff would be great. The lounges are always clean and well organized, perfect for hanging out with a friend and they have great natural lighting.

Aside from the minor improvements I’ve mentioned, this place in fantastic and worth checking out.

I’m incredibly happy here and I look forward to continuing my tenancy for...
