Tacombi - Long Island City — Restaurant in New York

Though we've dined at Tacombi LIC several times (and absolutely LOVE it), this review is actually for our experience ordering catering for our wedding.

We recently had our wedding and knew from the start that we wanted to only incorporate the things that we love. My husband is obsessed with the Baja Crispy Fish Tacos, so it was a no-brainer to serve Tacombi for dinner at our wedding.

We placed the catering order online for our 120 guests. The process was so easy! I anticipated a simple "Uber Eats"-style delivery: we place the order for a certain delivery window, they make and deliver the food, we eat. But the Tacombi team took the service above and beyond and really contributed to making our wedding day truly special.

After placing our order, Abu from the Tacombi team reached out to congratulate us and confirm our order. Abu made sure we were all set and any questions we had were answered. This was an especially huge help as we hadn't anticipated to come across so many questions in the planning process on certain details like guests' allergies, food signage, and buffet supplies.

On the day of the wedding, the team arrived with all the food for an easy hand-off to our waitstaff to set in the buffet. Abu was even so thoughtful to prepare a special box of food and drink just for my husband and me to have in our dressing room just for ourselves! It was truly so thoughtful. As soon as our ceremony was over, we scarfed down a couple tacos before returning to our guests.

We're SO glad we went with Tacombi for our wedding dinner. We served the food during our "cocktail hour" so that our reception could be focused on partying, and it was one of the best choices we made. Everyone devoured the assortment of tacos, quesadillas, esquites, and totopos we served, and it paired so well with our signature cocktails. The food was perfectly hot, easy to eat, and better than your typical "wedding food." Our wedding took place in the summer on a rooftop, and I honestly can't think of a better meal to fit the vibe.

I had such a wonderful experience at Tacombi! The food was absolutely delicious — full of flavor, fresh, and the portions were very generous, which made it even better. Everything came out just right, and you can really taste the quality and care in each dish.

What made the visit even more special was the service. Grace, the manager, is truly outstanding. She’s attentive, incredibly friendly, and made sure everything was perfect during my visit. It’s rare to see a manager who takes so much time to connect with guests, and she really goes above and beyond. Grace is honestly one of the best managers I’ve ever met — she made me feel so welcomed and appreciated.

Sara, my server, was also amazing. She took the time to ask me about allergies and toppings, which shows how professional and thoughtful she is. She really knows her job and does it with so much care and kindness. She made the experience smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free.

Overall, the combination of excellent food, warm atmosphere, and such a fantastic team made this visit memorable. Tacombi is lucky to have people like Grace and Sara, and I’ll definitely be coming back....

Sending love from the Bay Area to the incredible team at Tacombi in Long Island City! We hosted our rehearsal dinner here this past June with a group of about 40, and from start to finish, the experience was above and beyond what we could have hoped for. Abu the manager went out of his way to be flexible and accommodating, making sure every detail was taken care of and that our guests felt comfortable and well taken care of.

The whole team — Breezy, Jeimy, Kenia, Grace, and Chris — were so attentive, warm, and genuinely kind, creating such a welcoming atmosphere for our celebration. The drinks were a huge hit with our group (so many fun cocktail options — especially for our tequila-loving crowd), and the food was absolutely delicious. The tacos, elote, and vegetarian-friendly options had everyone raving.
