Zara Express Turkish Cuisine — Restaurant in New York

Absolutely love this place! We’ve now ordered twice from Zara Express and both times the food has been excellent.

Today we ordered the chicken Turkish bread sandwich with white sauce and also got the chicken gyro. Both were flavorful, fresh, and so delicious!

What really stood out to us was the kindness of the staff. They must have recognized us from our last visit because when we got home, we noticed they had included two pieces of baklava as a surprise gift. What a nice gesture and what a way to keep clients coming back.

These guys really know what they’re doing and it shows considering they have 5 star reviews for a food business in the heart of manhattan. Not an easy thing to do!

I have been a customer of Zara a few times now and got the chance to try almost everything on their menu. The chicken shawarma is phenomenal; not greasy and easily digested even late at night. Zara is among the few shops that offer a shawarma wrap with cheese and fries inside. The second highlight is their avocado salad with perfect dressing and sliced almonds! Finally, their rice is very tender and pairs great with the meat. I started buying chicken shawarma sides and use them as protein in my own dishes. I bought 4 sides today online and was nicely surprise to find out that they included TWO desserts completely for free and without my knowledge. Needless to say that I will revisit this shop...

It’s my best friend’s birthday. We are both from Arkansas and are visiting New York for the first time. We jumped on the hop on hop off bus and ended up at Zara Express. When I tell you, it was the best experience ever from the atmosphere to the food. Even the customers are friendly here. I’ve never had lamb, but I tried the number eight, which is lamb and chicken mixed. It was excellent. My Best Friend had the Caesar wrap which was also great!
