We were attending a show at the Prudential Center in Newark, and looking for a pre-show dinner spot. We came across Allettante, and decided to give it a try. First off, it’s a very nice room, reminiscent of a Tuscan dining room, with wood beams and warm colors. We had about an hour before our show, and for a bit it looked like we wouldn’t make it. The place was fairly full, and there were only two gentlemen serving the entire place, and they were clearly in the weeds. There were some minor issues with receiving some of the things we asked for as a result. But that said, I want to focus on the positive. He also informed us that the Grand Opening was the night before. Despite the minor issues we had with service, we will definitely give this place another go next time we are in Newark. I am convinced that once the staffing issues are addressed, Alletante will thrive in an area of the city that is lacking a ton of good options. I wish them...
Read moreAbsolutely phenomenal! My friend recommended this spot, and WOW—I’m so glad I came. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm hospitality and the kind of cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay awhile.
The food? Incredible. Every dish tastes like it was made with love. We were fortunate enough to meet the chef, and you can tell her takes great pride in his craft. The pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces were rich and flavorful…and the portions were VERY generous. I was able to take leftovers home, and the food tasted just as good reheated for lunch the next day as it did the night before. 😋
Whether you’re in the area to check out a show, a game, out for date night, grabbing dinner with friends, or just craving delicious Italian comfort food, this place is a MUST. I wish I worked near the area, I would recommend them for our company holiday party!! Five stars...
