Last night we dined here as a Table of 2. The restaurant was busy as most were eating before attending a concert. We order the ceviche as an appetizer, a Cobb salad with chicken, a “special,” the Pernil, water and an Old Fashion. After waiting 40 minutes to receive the drinks with the Old Fashion watered down to the point that I could barely taste the Bourbon, the waitress told us she would check on the food. 15mins later all of the food arrived at once. The ceviche was delicious and the salad was average because the blue cheese dressing lacked flavor. Although there was a nice portion, the Pernil was cold, not room temperature, COLD. The rice cooker rice was ice cold as well and bone dry. Only the red beans were warm. Staff did not care. I was shocked given that the predominantly Latino crowd was dining there before attending a Marc Anthony concert. When the bill arrived we quickly noticed it was $20+ more than expected. A 20% tip was automatically added to the total by the restaurant. After being charged we were handed the receipt to sign with the merchant copy and customer copy, not the original itemized receipt. The merchant copy had the audacity to ask for a tip on top of the inflated total and broke it down by percentages. If we hadn’t paid attention to the itemized receipt before we paid we would have given double the tip for food that was barely edible. Shameful practice by a restaurant and staff that could not care less about their product and service. No question the restaurant was busy because of the concert, but the business is in that location to attract event goers. My bill wasn’t reduced because of the poor quality and service. This place is not worthy of...
Read moreThe only reason this is getting a one star is the atmosphere. The bar itself is really cool. It puts you in the setting of an old fashioned whiskey tavern, and speaking of old fashioned, well we will get to that. My wife and I walk in and fine seats at the bar. The bartender comes up and offers us menus to which we respond we are only having drinks. I then ask for a whiskey menu. The bartender says he doesn’t have one. I’m not sure how you can be called American Whiskey and not have a whiskey menu. I then asked if they had Woodford Reserve, in which he replied “no”. My wife asked for a cocktail list and the bartender said they don’t have one but asked her what she wanted to drink. She asked for an apple martini and the bartender said that he was sorry but didn’t have the materials to make and apple martini. Okay, I’m pretty sure it’s about 2 ingredients that’s any bar, even your local corner bar has, but moving on. The bartender says I’m going to make you something, but doesn’t ask her preference of drink cocktails. Meanwhile I asked for an old fashioned and got a syrup mixture of something where I couldn’t taste the whiskey at all. After about 5 mins my wife’s mystery drink comes and it’s a pink drink heavy on the vodka. After two sips she hands it off to me and I finished it. Then the bill comes and we are charged for both drinks in full, 29 dollars. We had one simple beer after that and left for our event later that evening. The service was terrible, no whiskey menu, no cocktail menu, couldn’t offer any specialty cocktails but said “I’m just gonna make you something”. Unacceptable, we will not...
Read moreI am appalled by everything about this place. This past Sunday prior to the Devils game, I stopped in to have a celebratory birthday drink with a family member. We ordered the worst food known to man and drinks. After ordering a second round and needing to send it back as it was atrocious, I witnessed a bartender storm off in anger. After receiving a second (corrected) drink, it was just as bad but I never sent it back due to how aggressive and intimidating the staff were. I was informed that the server needed to drop the check even though I had just received my drink. The server was intimidating, unfriendly, and rude when we ordered our drinks originally. After my family member got up from the table for a minute, some dude in a jacket came over and informed me that I needed to get up from the table within two minutes (they had just collected the check not even five minutes prior and I wasn’t even close to finishing my drink) as they had a “long waitlist.” I was told that I could stand at a bar if I needed to. I went over to the bar and was pushed around and glared at by staff (apparently I was in the way) as I was waiting for my family member. I have a physical disability which makes it difficult for me to stand for long periods of time. I didn’t finish my $12 drink, because I couldn’t continue standing. Upon leaving, I witnessed another table still finishing their drinks. They had no food, but they were just chatting and finishing up their drinks without any issue. I want my money back. You should be ashamed. I will not be returning. Do NOT waste your money at this...
