I stopped here for the first and last time the other day. On first appearance, it seemed like any other neighborhood spot that you would visit for coffee and a quick breakfast. I was hoping to make it part of my morning commute.
I ordered bread and coffee, and while one of the young ladies was toasting my bread, I noticed the other steaming something with the frother on the espresso machine. Imagine my horror when she turned around and I noticed that she had inserted the frother into her personal paper cup of coffee, through the torn back drinking hole in the plastic lid. She then charged me for the bread, forgetting the coffee I had ordered, and I decided to take it as a win.
Needless to say, I won't be back. I can tolerate over-toasted bread, but the open lack of hygiene on the part of the one young woman, and the calm observation of the other tell me that this is a normal practice and I honestly don't want to know what else is...

Sit at a dated booth or at the counter where all of the action is. Fun place to dine and hang out in Newark. I've included photos of my breakfast special--French toast, bacon cooked soft, eggs scrambled hard and a small coffee. All under $6.00 I believe. Great smiling counter help and old school feel. Not pretentious but...
