If you happen to be waiting for the bus across the street and your nose is running because it’s allergy season and you really need a tissue, this is not the place to go if you are looking for basic compassion for fellow man. When I asked for a napkin the person behind the counter gave me a single square, and when I asked for a second they looked me dead in the eye and said no. I asked if she was serious and said just “no you can’t have another” It’s not like I blew my nose right there, or there were any other customers, I just needed more than one tiny napkin at least two. Especially with an 5 inch stack of napkins sitting between us. It a bakery, you don’t got a paper towel or something? Anyway, I know this really is a non issue and I probably sound like George Costanza but I’m on the bus now and I have the time to rant. I Like I get that there are real problems in this world and that this isn’t one. But as a native who feels the city is pushing out locals, this was maybe the final nail in the coffin. To be honest, I’m mostly just impressed at their conviction to the profit margin and to saving napkins. I’ve worked on broadway a lot, I understand you sometimes feel like you’re just supporting the people walking around but I also know what a stack of couple hundred napkins look like. I also know supporting the locals walking around is a good thing. The heroes next door were more annoyed that I even asked and didn’t just grab them- because you know, the human condition.
I’ve had the food from here in the past though, it’s not bad and...
Read moreOur neighbors had been ordering Mad Hatter's cakes for their daughter's birthday party for years, so we decided to jump on it too. I called a few weeks in advance for some basic information and the owner was very helpful over the fun. Hubby and I stopped in with our one year old to sample different cupcakes and get an idea for what flavors we would like. Owner came out and discussed design and whatnot and we gave her a copy of the birthday invitation for her to work off of. Once she had the gist, she let the girl up front finish up our order so she could get back to work. My brother in law picked up the cake, so we didn't see it until it arrived at the banquet hall but it was AMAZING. It was gorgeous, simple and completely matched our ladybug theme! We had ordered a half sheet cake, 18 matching cupcakes and a matching smash cake and the price was so reasonable! We had been quoted almost triple that at another bakery. And it was delicious and everyone devoured the cake, including our baby girl! We will...
Read moreOwner is completely rude. We received an email from the owner saying that she could do a cake that we sent her a picture of. She said to call and place the order. My fiancé called about an hour after the email, which ended up being about 10 minutes before they closed for the day. The person on the phone made a point to tell her they closed at noon and was sighing in an aggravated manner, basically to show her annoyance that we called just before they closed. The annoyance and curt responses she gave led us to ask if she did not want to take our order. She said to go somewhere else. We then emailed the owner back to let her know that we had a bad experience with who we thought was an employee...It turned out that the person on the phone was the owner! She emailed back with additional rude and even insulting words making fun of what we wanted for the wedding cake. I cannot understand how a person like this stays in business with how they treat...
