New-ish newport local here, this is my neighborhood spot. This place takes the things that I normally wouldn't eat and makes them into an incredible dish that I order repeatedly.
Their Gobi (crispy cauliflower) is probably one of favorite dishes since moving to Newport in November '21. A few places in the area do this dish but this one has been the best I've had here.
Normally I'm anti pineapple on pizza but a friend ordered the bbq pineapple pizza, I tried it and they make this work really well.
They do potato wedge style fries too that are really good and cooked to perfection.
Their beer selection has a few local RI brews and the classics. They have a good selection liquors to choose from if you're looking for a cocktail as well.
The staff are friendly and very attentive! Sometimes, when the place gets busy, they have to cover a bit of ground so just be patient if they're running around a bit. I truly appreciate all of their staff and honestly they make this place feel like home.
Give this place a shot and you shouldn't be...
Read moreMy husband and I wanted to celebrate our first wedding dinner out together on broadway! We luckily found Parlor and made a 6:30pm reservation. The restaurant has cool ambience, the food was great, they had a band setting up(which we didn’t know they had live music) and our waitress was so sweet and helpful. As we were finishing our drinks and looking to ask for one more, the manager very rudely walked up to our table and told us “Sorry but I cannot let you sit here all night! there’s a band playing and a group is waiting for this table.” We were shocked at her tone and immediate judgment that we were trying to sneakily stay longer… even though we had only been sitting for an hour and a half. It made us very uncomfortable and wanted to leave as soon as possible. We got the bill and quickly paid and found our waitress to give her the tip because she was so lovely. We both wish it was approached differently. I would like to say we would give Parlor another chance but we came in so excited to but celebrate and left with an...

We waited atleast 20 minutes for the waitress to come take our orders and the place was empty. (That should have been our clue to NOT eat here.) We were then told that they were out of lumpia and a host of other menu items. We got mixed drinks that definitely had more mix than alcohol or any alcohol at all. The rib eye steaks were NOT cooked evenly or the medium rare as requested but instead well done just like the potato on the side. It was infuriating. We went to split the check and, of course, the waitress "can't" itemize by person but can by the number of people. When we ask why, she proceeds to tell us that she knows her job and this is the usual and there is no manager on the premises. I'm sure this was a rouse for the 20% gratuity and not a real issue. This is ridiculous, terrible food, drinks,...
