Norey's touts itself as a bar that will even challenge the greatest of beer connoisseurs tastes. To this, I agree but not as one would think. While Norey's has an impressive list of imported beer bottles, the biggest challenge is price. Many beers cost in excess of $20 each, with several costing as much as $60 per bottle. These prohibitive prices are an immediate turn off.
The food quality is good, but like the beers, is incredibly expensive. For example, a simple spaghetti dish goes for $20.
With prices so high, one would imagine that the service is top notch, considering how small the restaurant is. This was not the case in my experience. My drink sat empty for over 30 minutes while the server socialized with the bartender. The restaurant was not busy as we were one of three parties visiting.
Bottom line. The food is tasty but everything is incredibly overpriced. The service was subpar on a slow...
Read moreThe location and decor earned the 2 star at this establishment. It's a shame the bartender isn't friendly at all. When asked about menu items she is strictly business and will not engage with any of the 5 guests present at this time . The bar offers house brew and draft beers . You cannot sample any of them. It is posted. ' when it pours it's yours. No free samples . This place reads of bad attitude. We are let down. Our pre holiday season date night on Broadway is not off to a welcoming start. Side note . The bartender has not asked if we are enjoying our choice. We are beer lovers from a simple. Budweiser to a double IPA . My choice of the October fest was not a good one . We dine out regularly. We will never return here . We will definitely tell our friends NOT to waste their time or money. I wish I knew how to add pictures to...
Read moreI was at Newport Hospital for a few days and have been taking walks down the street to take a break from the hospital vibe. This bar looked nice so I went in. The 2 girls behind the bar were terrible. Probably because I had a hat on. I went in with a smile and left with a smile. I was told I wouldn't be served because I had a hat on. I said "OK thanks" and left. I guess that it's their policy. I wear a hat frequently, I also take it off frequently. If I am going to buy a beer at a bar I will do so wearing a hat if I please. They didn't want my hard earned cash and they will never get it now. Love Pour Judgement though that is the place to go, just a minute walk down the street. I try and give you money for a beer and you tell me I can't wear a hat in your bar. I will wear my hat in another bar, right...
