As a former employee, toxic doesn't even begin to cover the work environment at this location. First, the manager who hired me in July got fired, leading to another, much younger one (I'm talking 21-22) to take his place. The environment was already not the best before the new GM came along, and it didn't get any better under him. The first red flag is his age because I felt he understood the people his age more than the older crowd including myself. This second part continued from the last GM. The store can rarely get open on time due to poor scheduling and therefore people scrambling to get everything done. Of course, it leads to frustrated customers taking it out on the workers. That all came to a head in November when the store had a skeleton crew and I was forced to come in despite having had a mental breakdown one day prior. But I hung on for the rest of the year, even enduring an insult from another employee. Needless to say, I reported that, but one shift lead told me not to think about it too much and the same GM told me ignore it.
Fast forward to January, when I wrote down my expectations going into the new year, but when I brought it up to the GM he all but shot them down, yet expects me to listen to him whenever he tries to "coach" me. I tried one last time to talk with him, but he said he couldn't/wouldn't meet my expectations. Then he started disciplining me on my language, yet I hear others using more F-bombs than you can shake a stick at. I brought that up to him, but not only did me make excuses (he said "they were talking amongst one another), he also questioned if I was certain that they were also using inappropriate language. Yes, the discipline is inconsistent at this location. I ended up reporting this to the Field Leader and nothing came of it.
I ended up quitting at the end of January; life is too short to be at a job that brings stress, especially after a pandemic. I had been mulling over writing this review for some time out of fear of retaliation or making myself look bad, but I realized it would probably save someone's mental health out there. I wouldn't recommend working at Chipotle to anyone.
Update: After seeing someone's review, I agree that they either need to be shut down or have a staff overhaul.
Another update: If you invite someone to reach out to corporate, good business practice would be to respond in a timely manner. Why invite someone to reach out for more info if you're not going to respond...
Read moreI went into this location today with my family for lunch and I was very disappointed with how we were treated by the staff. It began the moment I stepped up and tried to order two kids meals for my children. They did not have the correct taco shells, the containers, or the foil needed in place to make the item. The gentleman who waited on us went to get each thing and was clearly angry and annoyed at having to do that to make the kids meals. Then as we moved down the line they did not ask us about toppings trying to simply rush our meals to check out to help with the backup that had formed while we waited on the kids meals. Finally at the checkout the woman who rang up our order was downright rude. When I tried to reach for forks she raised her voice and told me to get back and to wait.. then after over 10 minutes to finally ring our order correctly she gave me 2 forks for 5 meals. I asked could I please have more forks and she handed me one more. At that point I told her I would still need 2 more as we had 5 meals. We went to sit at our table and the manager approached our table. I thought she was coming to apologize for our trouble, our long wait, or the rudeness of her staff. It turned out she was coming to tell us my sons high chair was in the aisle and needed to be moved. When we expressed to her the troubles we had in line she nodded and said ok and walked away. It was clear nobody in this restaurant cared about customer service and went beyond not caring to being downright rude. I would not recommend going with children as that particularly caused so...
Read moreAfter spending some time at Ikea we decided, with hungry bellies, to head over to Chipotle.
I expected the usual like all other Chipotles. The lineup was long and customers were waiting to be served. No one was attending to us. Us meaning the whole line of at least 8-9 customers.
I could tell they were doing online orders, but I was wondering if they went through a shift change because it took about 5 minutes before an employee worked the line.
In that time I was able to observe a little bit more of the location. Every table was dirty with debris from food. No one was coming out to wipe down tables.
My wife orders a chicken bowl with guac. My daughter orders a chicken bowl with extra rice and cheese. I order a chicken burrito.
After getting our food we went to fill up drinks and get forks. There were no forks left at all. My wife get spoons instead, but every spoon is wet. I'm assuming from juice and soda but who knows. There's no way where using those.
My daughter reaches to get napkins only to find that both the dispensers are completely empty.
There was crumbled up paper towel and straw wrappers everywhere. The place an absolute mess. I go to the front and ask if they have forks. No verbal response.. but a bucket with forks are pushed towards me. I'm thankful they're not wet.
The chicken in all our meals was overspiced. My daughter picked every piece out and wouldn't eat it. My wife was close to the same thing. She had chunks of chicken bigger than any I've seen before. I'm a Chipotle fan but this was not good...
