This is not a place to take a girl on a date. This is the place to take a girl on a date if you want to make a good impression on her. The food. There is so much to say about the food. There is always something a little bit unique about each meal to make it stand out. Even the side items are unique. I ordered the meatloaf and garlic mashed potatoes and subbed a salad for a slight upcharge. It was worth every bit of it. The salad itself was amazing with cornbread croutons. Even the dressing was worth writing home about. My wife ordered the tortilla soup since we went at lunch to go with her salad. It was very tasty and chock full of chicken that was very tender but not overcooked. Highly recommend The meatloaf was excellent but the sun dried tomato reddish brown reduction that was drizzled over it was amazing. I had never tasted anything quite like it. The garlic mashed red potatoes were exquisitely flavored. Every single thing we tried was delicious and unique in some way. It is hard to be able to go through a drive-through for less than 40 bucks anymore. We had an outstanding meal for just over $40. The ambience was just right. The different sections of the restaurant are on different levels to minimize chatter being overheard from other diners. There was light music playing but it did not interfere with pleasant conversation. The lighting was excellent A service was more than attentive. We lacked for nothing. This is my first time at this location, but it will not be my last. We hope to make this more than a birthday/anniversary type place and make it a regular eating out place. It is that good

Actually ate here twice while in town dealing with family stuff. Once for lunch & once for dinner. For lunch I got their asian salad & it was delish, too much for me to eat with a starter, but really good flavors. For a starter I had the chips, guac & pimento cheese. All very good. The chips were nice & fresh. For dinner, I was torn between a couple of chicken dishes, so went off server's suggestion and got country fried chicken with red potato mash & the broccoli that was on offer. Hubs got a steak with a reduction, the broccoli & red potato mash. All really good. If I had to complain, my chicken fried steak was pretty salty. But it was fried to perfection, the gravy rich & thick & the red potato mash nice and creamy. I found that surprising because they are a starchy potato and often get gummy when mashed, so props for those! Hubs complaint was an edge of his steak was over-cooked, maybe on a too hot part of the grill, and rather than a nice crust, there was a bitter, burnt edge that wasn't really edible. He finished my country fried chicken and was still happy. They did get a very thick cut cooked to the right degree, but shame about that burnt edge. The reduction was quite nice. The broccoli was perfectly done & just the right firmness. The area is really pretty too. The internet says they are priced at like $30 a plate or something, which is way off. We spent like $200 for the 2 of us and only had 2 beers a piece, so def keep that in mind. I do recommend this place though, it's quite good with some dishes you can't get anywhere else.

This restaurant is elegant and exceptional. There is a fireplace at the entrance and the lighting inside is cozy and comfortable. The decor is understated and lends to a peaceful atmosphere. It is very consistent with delicious excellently executed cuisine and professional service. Management on their feet assisting to ensure a pleasing experience. My friend received a gift certificate from his brother who lives in San Francisco. We had taken him and his husband here when they were visiting over a year ago. He remembered and gifted another meal. We started with margaritas, chicken meatballs and deviled eggs. I had Shrimp Corzetti, my friends had Chicken Fried Chicken and the Persimmon Hill meatloaf. We got a side of the Mushrooms. For desert we shared the Berries and Shortbread. The bread had a crunchy texture paired with crisp strawberries and soft sweet berries. Everything was fantastic. My favorites were the mushrooms, the sauce was divine and the dessert was so good. Brandon our waiter was top notch. Thank you for a splendid evening.

I was looking forward to eating here after I saw the reviews and looked over their menu. Because I was driving in from Dallas and I was expecting to arrive around dinner time. I called ahead to make a reservation. I explained that we had some work that we needed to get done so if they had a booth in a corner that would be perfect. They let me know that they were putting me out on an enclosed patio. My concern was that it was gonna be too cold, because the weather Was in that high 30s low 40s. It was explained to me that the patio is normally warmer than it is inside, so I agreed to that when I arrived, they took us to the table and while the enclosed patio was warm, the table that they gave us was next to the door that led to the outside, so literally all the servers would go out the door of the restaurant to outside, and then in the door to the enclosed patio, and every time the door opened we had a burst of cold air. I immediately asked if there was another table we could sit at, and they told us no that all the other tables were reserved. The waitress let me know that she told all the other servers and other people working not to use that door to use the door on the other end.. which sounded like a good plan, but it actually wasn’t. People continue to go in and out the door. I felt like the empty tables that were in the middle of the enclosed patio should’ve been offered to us. We were on a table that’s at four people there was one right next to us that was empty the entire time we were there, and was not offered to us.

our waitress is friendly however, there were definitely things that I wouldn’t expect from a restaurant that charges as much as they do for their food, and it has such good reviews. For instance, we were never given straws to us. We’re drinking sweet tea. Thought it was kind of strange.. but whatever moving on. When I food was delivered, we had no silverware. We’ve been sitting at this table for 2030 minutes, waiting on the food, and nobody thought to bring us over where the waitress. I noticed when they were cleaning up the other tables and wiping them down silverware is put on those tables after they were wiped down, but that must not have been the case with our table that was by the door that was too cold.Smh.. so I asked the person that brought our food out if they could get us some silverware, he said sure and left to go get it.. it took him long enough to go retrieve some silverware first that another waitress at the other end of the enclosed patio looked over and saw that we all had our food and we were just sitting there not eating and she came over and asked if there was a problem and I said we need silverware so she went and got silverware faster than the original guy that we asked to get us over did eventually he came back with his silverware, but we already had gotten it from another waitress.. my son got the ribs he was very happy with his choice. Me and my other son got the salmon and I was not impressed with it at all. Neither was my son. In fact, we ate the salmon and did not eat the sides. The cold grains just did not go with the salmon that was not really seasoned at all. The whole experience was very disappointing all the way around. My son stopped at a deli on the way back to his dorm to get a sandwich we both left still hungry after leaving because they only thing we ate off our plate was the salmon. Very plain unseasoned salmon. Normally, when you order restaurant and there is things on your plate that you don’t touch and there’s multiple people that haven’t touched it or eaten it. Usually the server is perceptive enough to ask if there was a problem with it. But, not our waitress. There so many instances where things could gotten better but they just didn’t. I wouldn’t...

My husband and I went and had dinner at Red Rock in Norman on December 26 and ordered our usual and of course it was delicious, so when it was time to pay we put down 2 different Visa cards (one was our personal & one was a vise gift card) when our waiter came up to grab the payment from us he immediately told us their card reader would not take the visa gift card we replied with “how weird” and he replied that he would go try it though. He immediately came back and said no it wouldn’t work so we paid for the complete amount on our personal visa and I ask to speak to the manager. She came over and really didn’t say much except that their card reader wouldn’t except the gift cards. I ask her what kind of machine they had because I’ve never heard of that. She “gladly” with an attitude told me and even wrote it down and that was the end of the conversation and we left. On the following Sunday we went to lunch at a different restaurant and tried to use that same visa gift card and that restaurant tried running the card for the amount we had to them was on the card. They came back saying they showed it had a zero balance (weird because we had only tried using it at Red Rock a few days before) so the next day (Monday) I called the # on back of the MidFirst Bank visa gift card and found out the balance that was stated to me as a zero balance, I ask if they could give me the history of the card balance and we it was used they told me the amount that was put in the card and that it was INDEED used at Red Rock restaurant on Dec 26th for the complete balance if the card. So we paid for our meal in full on our personal visa plus the gift card was also ran (so they lied to us) so I went to the restaurant on Tuesday I got there around 10:50 just to see if I could maybe catch a manager before any food service customers would be there. So when I tried the doors at that time (10:50) I saw a waiter through the outside plus indoor patio area and he LOUDLY stated they don’t F’ing open until 11:00 but didn’t look at me just wanted to make sure I knew…..so I left and came back a touch after 11:00 and spoke with a guy manager and told him what had happened…..he didn’t seemed to shocked and took my info so their IT guy could get back to me. I have yet to hear from ANYONE. I wrote a review on yelp the evening the whole thing happened and got a response of needing my info, I immediately gave it through messenger like ask and also never anything back from anyone from that either. Just wanted others to know that their “machine” won’t accept gift cards but some how your gift card gets...

I have driven up and down I-35 so many times and I have wanted to stop and eat at this restaurant. So tonight a couple of friends and myself decided to stop by and have dinner. We walked in and was immediately seated. We thought the person that seated us said your waitress Stacy will be with you. We were looking at our menus and she came up to get our drink order. Two sweet teas and one pink lemonade, she bought us unsweetened tea. For appetizers we ordered deviled eggs, dip duo, and the skillet cornbread. The skillet cornbread was to thick for me to eat but they loved it. The dip duo was the best it had guacamole, pimento spread, and tortilla the size of a half taco shell they were crunchy and salty.

For dinner we ordered the rotisserie chicken with mashed potatoes and carrots, persimmon meatloaf with jalapeno creamed corn and asparagus that were huge, filet veal special for the day with carrots and jalapeno creamed corn and carrots. They brought our food out and everything looked delicious and she asked me to cut into my steak to make sure the color was right. Well it was perfect and it cut like butter and the taste was out of this world. It was super tender and moist and the sauce was fantastic. However, my carrots were hard and we she came to ask us how was our food I told her and she had the audacity to tell me well next time we can cook them a little longer. Never have I ever been told that while she was standing I was thinking what? Then when she me and my friends were like next time what she mean next time why not now this really got under my skin in a bad way. Then she came back later and asked us was everything still tasting good and my told her that he didn't like the sauce on his meatloaf and she told him the same thing.

So I decided I wanted to try some whiskey for the first time and I asked her do they have and and what kind she starts rattling off a list and I ask her do they have the kind with the red top on the commercial that they let dry. So she gets us two of those on ice I wait to I finish my food to try it boy I tell you woo it was hard to drink but once I got it down about a fourth of the way I added some of my sweet tea the it was great. Next time I go out to eat I am going to try some Bourbon .So we were finished with dinner and she asks how do we want the bill and I say one bill and she whips it out of her pocket. She was ready Freddy I have been to hundreds of restaurants and they always have to go and get the bill I guess she was in a hurry for us to leave her area. Needless to say her tip...
